Powder Valley has CCI Primers (LPP #300, SPP #500, LRP #200, SRP #400) on sale at $24/k. Given pricing of late from most of the vendors this is a really good deal.

Grafs is a little cheaper right now on the #500's and one other size I don't remember, #400 I think. $115/5k, or $100/5k if you have a FFL.

Both Grafs and PVI have very reasonable shipping charges, if you can call hazmat reasonable.

I don't see the sale at PV.
I see Win for $25 and Tula for $20.

Just click on "specials"

Grafs will not ship primers or powder without collecting an adult delivery signature, and claimed to me in writing that Federal law requires adult signature delivery confirmation for these specific HAZMAT items (which is patently false). Other online reloading supply companies have no issues shipping primers and powder, properly HAZMAT categorized, without requiring that I take a day off work to sign for the package.

I will not buy from Grafs.

I agree, I stopped buying from Grafs for the same reason. No other online vendor I know of requires an adult signature.

Just ordered 5000 primers from PV yesterday--but they were Wolf, at about $15 per 1000. Amazingly inexpensive.

The delivery signature requirement is under the control of the carrier, not the merchant. PVI told me on my last powder/primer order that UPS shouldn't require a signature, but when the driver delivered the hazmat box, he required an adult sig. Seems to be up to the driver or local requirements, which can vary across the Country.

I always place "No delivery signature required or provided" in the special instructions block for every online order I place. That keeps the carrier from deciding otherwise. :)

Most carriers place a shipping surcharge on delivery signature collection, so as a general rule most carriers do NOT want to collect that signature unless they're getting paid to do so.

I don't mind them making the business decision to require the delivery signature nearly as much I was offended by them responding to my request for a waiver of adult delivery signature by claiming that it was a Federal law requirement.

In any event, PVI has always been a stand up outfit and their current primer sale is a good deal.

Our local IDPA club made a group buy of 48 lbs of powder anf 35k primers from Grafs last month. I had it delivered to my place, with instructions to have my retired neighbors next door sign for the package.

I priced our order from both Powder Valley and Graf's. On a $1,500 order Graf's came out ahead by about 40 dollars.

Just ordered some CCI LPP from Graf's they have them now on sale for $119.99 for 5000, I also order fro PV but they were out of stock on the bullets that I needed.

I do order from PV at times but I do not like the fact that I can not see what shipping charges are until the final submital order page.

They need a shipping calculator

If you want to know what the freight is from PV, just place your order via phone. They'll tell you when the order is complete and it will be exact.

The problem with companies that use "shipping calculators" is that they usually are padded in their favor. PV has been one of the best I order from for minimizing freight where possible by even splitting the shipment between UPS for the hazmat portion and USPS Flat Rate Boxes for bullets and brass.

When dealing with PV I now phone my orders in and couldn't be happier with their service. When phoning I know if they have enough stock to fill my order or not and can make substitutions on the spot if necessary.

MidwayUSA is a prime example of shipping costs in favor of the vendor.

Nice heads up on the PV special. Add another vote for PV, I've basically dropped Midway because of their high shipping costs. :(

Glad I stocked up at the last gunshow. A vendor was selling CCI primers for $20/1000 with no tax. I bought 10K which was all the money I brought to the show.

Another thing about Midway's shipping costs. If you make an order and you pay full S&H but something is back-ordered when they ship the item they charge you shipping all over again. I found out about this once when they back-ordered a $5 item and when they sent it I was charged an additional $7.95 S&H for that $5 item. Most online vendors won't charge you additional shipping on a back-ordered item and even if they do they certainly won't charge you more in shipping than the price of the part!
