The revolver bug got me again. I've snagged two in the last couple weeks. The quest for revolvers has led me to start selling my rifles. I'm down to 5 rifles and 1 shotgun :uhoh:. I like my rifles, they are the main tools to put meat on the table, but there is just something about revolvers. I look at my rifle as tools, and appreciate their beauty and craftsmanship, but side by side next to a revolver....they will seldom steal a glance. Will they ever find a cure?

I got 2, a 4 in and a 3 in. Built like a tank, well made a just plain pretty.

Shoot them better than some of my auto's, but not as good as my 1911.

Enjoy.

That's a real beauty skidder.

The first handgun I ever fired ('78 or '79) was a Security Six - my pop still has it but I get to handle it whenever I stop by there! :D We only shoot it once a year these days. Somehow we always take my stuff out to the range...which, of course, I clean when we get back

Great memories shooting with my pop and that SS when I was a kid.

Congratulations, nice six-gun!
To answer your question? NOPE there is no cure, you are hooked! Sit back, relax, & enjoy the ride.:)

The Ruger Sixes are great revolvers, whether it be Security, Service or Speed.

Great looking gun...I too have come to really appreciate revolvers. The good ones are like art for guys.

I got one of these a month ago. Nice gun, tough trigger compared to my other revolvers.
Anyone know where i can get after market grips for the 150 prefix model?

Deaf-- Is that 2nd gun a security six with a round butt?
Yes but I had it made that way. Added Secret Service stocks to.

Below is the same gun on the right. It is also zero-zero. No end shake, no crane shake, no nothing. Locks real good when you cock it.

deaf--They are both nice guns! Curious.... if you had to choose between the two (I know loaded question ;))?

Sweet gun! No cure, I sold my smith and bought a six! Now I want one of each in every barrel length. The prices are going up and the supply going down. Get them while you can!

I think the factory grips look good, but my big fingers sometimes hit the trigger guard.

Picked up these Sile grips on CDNN sports for dirt, $6 for the rubber and $10 for the wood. I was surprised how nice the wood grips were for the price. I'll never get rid of the originals, but for shooting these Siles aren't bad.

Skidder,

If I was just gonna shoot +p .38s, then the M66-1 you are looking at. With good belt slide you can pack it all day!

But if I planned magnums in my future, the Security Six. When shot empty it makes a good sap (it is a bit heavy!)

I personally did action jobs on both (and the screws are NOT dinged up and springs NOT reduced), and both are zero-zero (no end shake, crane shake, etc.. both lock tight when cocked on all six chambers.

The S&W is set up for Winchester 158grs and the Security Six 145 gr Silvertips (both done that way along time ago.)

They sleep in the safe. I have a 3 inch GP-100 I call my 'Canadian' (it was a Canadian police trade it) I also set up zero-zero, and a S&W 629-3 4 inch .44 for serious use.

But of course, for social work, I pack Glocks.

Merry Christmas gang... family time all this afternoon AND tomorrow. Sigh... no get to play with guns. Dang.
