SHOT show on the main page??

I would like that also...

Hopefully they'll keep the 2011 SHOT show in the archives so we can go back to it but I doubt they will.

Last year they started posting a day or two into the show

The SHOT Show thread will not be on THR. There is a new site started for this and future reviews and events.

The way we did it last year for SHOT 2011 was honestly very difficult. it's hard to attach images in vbulletin and posting is tough from the show floor, so we are trying something new and launching a new sister website at the same time.

Monday is media day and the THR representatives are at the range this year so there should be even better info than last year. If I didn't have to work my real job I'd be there for sure.

Anyway, take a look over at Shooting Reviews for all the live coverage.

The issue i have with not having a forum is there's no place for everyone else's shot show posts to go.

Yep, that's a problem too, but the way we did it last year simply wasn't going to work if there was to be solid coverage. Hauling a laptop around plus camera gear isn't practical so most are using an iPad. Cutting and pasting the URL links to images on an ipad is a royal nightmare.

It's either do it this way or do like we did last year and get less coverage. Last year, with 3 folks from THR posting, we maybe got 60% of the show covered.

Those in attendance will be checking here too so if you have SHOT questions or comments feel free to post them here.

I hear you, and that totally makes sense from a perspective of the people going there and doing the coverage, but THR has more members than just the people going under the THR flag who are going to be at SHOT. what i'm saying is, if there's a forum here, you'll have more potential people covering shot than you will if you have a segregated blog.

That's too bad there's not going to be threads on THR. That's really the best part/only reason to come here to see what's new. There's hundreds of review sites already out there.

That's what we would hope. There is certainly nothing wrong with having threads here, there just won't be the live posts from the floor of the show like last year by THR Staff.

Shot Show 2012...our first SHOT! Incredible...far more people to meet and business development opportunities that I was expecting and I'm just walking around with very little strategy. If the next three days are anything like yesterday, we'll be back next year, no question.

As Mal H posted, the subforum is rearranged and open after some input from this thread.
