U.S. judge backs ATF multiple rifle sales reporting

How about a law which restricts the ATF's ability to sell weapons to Cartels and then lose them?

Have that, we just have a Justice Department that selectively enforces laws at the whim of the President and AG.

So I live in Texas. I go buy a rifle say a 308 from a LGS, then the next day go to another LGS and buy another, two different stores. They going to be able to trace that? I do guess the NICS could print out a report on this each week.

Same as above, but a person has a CHL, no call?

You are confusing the FBI NICS background check with the reporting of multiple sales....the two have nothing to do with each other. Multiple sales forms are faxed to ATF....the FBI NICS has nothing to do with that.

ATF requires dealers to report ANY unlicensed person who acquires (from the same licensed dealer in the five border states), at one time or during five consecutive business days, two or more semi-automatic rifles larger than .22 caliber (including .223/5.56 caliber) with the ability to accept a detachable magazine.

Thanks Tom. So not much will stop the BG from going store to store ,buy one rifle at each store if the NICS and ATF are not tied to tight?
Lots of work for the FFL's

Well this old guy has not bought more than one at a time in a long while. Don't know any 07 types, just the FFl's.

Seems lots of different agencies are just making up new rules. Then someone has to take them to court to try to change the rule back.

It won't help things; most guns used in Mexican drug wars are smuggled in through black market channels from illegal sources. They only run traces on weapons which they think could be from the U.S.
