My Last Deer Hunt For This Season

Well today was my last hunt for the Mississippi deer season.
I saw 16 does and 6 bucks. The bucks were two 6 points, 1 7 point,
1 4 point, a spike and 1 big 8 point. The 8 point was 163 yards from my
shooting house. I didn't chance a shot because I was carrying
my single shot .45/70 (primitive weapons only season) and I had
zeroed it for 100 yds and wasn't real sure of the holdover. There's
always next year. I already have plenty of meat and sausage.

We have until Jan 31 here in Ala and I need one more. I have enough for my family but a widow friend asked me to get her one. Saw two 60 - 70 lb does this am but would rather get her one with a little more meat on it's bones.

Speaking of which I went hunting yesterday in Alabama doing a ground stalk in a leafsuit. The deer topped a hill and came straight at me in a run finally stopping about 50 yards; he knew something was wrong but couldn't see me. I put him down with one shot, this will top out my meat freezer until next season.
