I'm here to represent the S&W 296. It's one of my favorites - centennial style, double-action only, scandium/titanium light but with a big bore... and it also leaves a big mark on my thumb when it recoils.. heh heh heh. It's a firearm with a pretty specific niche, but since this thread is about big bore snubs I'm probably preaching to the choir.

This spends most of it's time in a pocket holster made by Robert Mika. I also enjoy carrying it in a Lobo Gunleather IWB.

wow tony thats a cool 296. FYI a steel 696 cylinder will swap in to give it just a few more ounces of heft. are those corbon DPX ? cant go wrong with that set up you got there. will get some bad dudes attention right quick!

Wanna take the bite out of the 296's backstrap hump? Pad it in a made-for-S&W Hogue .500 Magnum X-frame monogrip!

Yeah, the X-frame grip fits K, L, N, X, & Z frames. It makes really big pockets a necessity for pocket carry. Mine sports the OEM boots. The Speer 200gr Gold Dots are perfect - they make just over 800 fps from the 2.5" barrel - enough to fully open in gelatin. I won't use the Al-cased CCI Blazers after one split in my 696's SS cylinder several years ago. GA Arms makes a brass cased variant reasonably priced.

Smith & Wesson 310 Night Guard 10MM/40 S&W. I carry it in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake. I have S&W Finger Groove Checkered Rosewood Grips on it.

Smith & Wesson 3" 625 Power Custom Combat. It has been converted to a Full Length Ejector Rod, and the chambers lengthened to shoot 460 Rolland. I have S&W smooth Finger Groove Combats on it for grips. I carry this one in a Lobo Model 1 Pancake.

I stumbled on my dream gun last year. $499 out the door. A S&W 25-5 .45 Colt. It looks to be a former 6 inch cut to a ported 3 inch, round butted with night sights. Unknown gunsmith. It would have cost me $1500+ to build this gun.

At 15 yards it keyholes pretty bad with .452 SWC 255 grain Keiths (for my Bisley Blackhawk and 94 Trapper) but is still damned accurate, out to at least 50 yards. It is at least 1 MOA (minute of A$$****). I love it.

Besides the S&W Governor, I also have a 2.5" 296 (below - with a Mika pocket holster) and a 3" 696, both 5-shot .44 Specials. They seem kind of boring now.
If you are bored with your 696, feel free to send it to me. I've been looking for one. :p

I had a 625-10. I regret trading it away. I really wanted to love it, but with the lightweight scandium frame it just beat the piss out of my hand with every trigger pull. Still dreaming of doing a custom one with a steel frame. Lightweight has serious diminishing returns when the first number is a 4!

I carry a Charter Bulldog loaded with Hornady Critical Defense 165 grain rounds.

Have also been known to pack around my 4" 629-5 or 6.5" Blackhawk .44 magnums.

1917 Colt .45 ACP with a few modifications. Carried in a Saguaro Gun Leather cross draw holster.
