I have a 92FS Inox with stainless controls. The gun looks nice but I'm thinking about having the controls refinished. I'd like the barrel, takedown lever, slide stop, trigger bar, extractor, and mag release to be a bright polished stainless look. I have never had this done and don't know what the best approach or refinishing technique would be to get the look I'm after. Is this a case of simply having them polished or would I need some sort of plating? Below is an image. See how the controls don't match each other very well. Any advice on who to do the work?

Maybe you could just buy 1 or 2 replacement parts that match closer rather than refinish. New slide release?

Since some of these parts are aluminum and some stainless steel, you are probably never going to get an exact match.

Looks to me like if he just buffed up that slide stop a little bit, that's all it would take. I don't think really shiney parts would look very good on that pistol, but who knows ....

It's your pistol but IMO it looks a lot better as is than it will with bits of it polished. Don't make it look like a Taurus. ;)

Thanks for the replies guys. I think the slide stop is the thing that bothers me the most. I don't know if that's just how they look or if mine came with a bad one. Maybe I'm just being overly picky. I really like the gun and don't want to screw it up or make it worse. For those who have one set up like this how does yours look?

I thought this at first as well and see some parts at CDNN but I'm afraid if I order a new slide release it will look exactingly the same.

I haven't paid attention to the Taurus 92 but what you say is interesting. I'll do some checking on that.

I thought these parts were all stainless. Which parts are aluminum?

If you click the Google image search link below you will see an image of another Beretta on a target that got me to thinking about this. I didn't want to post a picture for copyright reasons.

The link below is a Google images search for "beretta 92fs controls"

I went to the forum and reached out to the owner of this gun and he informed me that he had his controls polished at a professional shop. I think it came out fantastic but that's looking at a picture. What do you guys think?
