Well that will set the little girl straight.
No her daddy is not a protector or her hero that will 'shoot bad guys and monsters'.
She shouldn't look up to him and feel safe because he is around.
He is a peasant that can find himself under a jack boot for even leading his daughter to believe such a thing.

She was taught an important lesson, the state is all powerful and right, it is what protects people, not her daddy.
Her daddy is just a pawn.
Now she can draw pictures of the nice detectives that raided the home and envision them coming to the rescue, clearly they have the power to do anything, not pathetic daddy.

Clearly the drawing of a restricted firearm demonstrates probable cause that the girl must have seen such a restricted item in the home. Justifying a search warrant or any other measure.

Of course had the guy actually owned the firearm in the picture and it been found, well then the picture she drew clearly showed she had dangerous access to it. Which meant any charges filed would be justified to protect the public, the little girl, and the other children that would be in danger due to her presumed access just by knowing what it looked like.

Fast forward this incident 20 years and the parent(s) might spend the rest of their lives in jail for the child THINKING that a firearm MIGHT be a good thing to have.:banghead::banghead: Wake up folks the problem is closer than you even can think. Mostly because WE have to work so hard to survive that there is no time to be on the elitist committees that steer the education agenda for our precious children. The local school board here is made up of a couple draft dodgers and several individuals with gender issues.:banghead: How about yours?? Go to a school board meeting and get your eyes opened fast.:what: Teaching RESPONSIBLE firearms use and safety are more important than a lot of the stuff that is taught IMHO.

I guess nobody even considered that most of the drawings of most 4-yr-olds are not recognizable as anything in particular. This child should have been praised for her early artistic aptitude.

And here's a thought: what if she were living in North Carolina and drew a picture of a turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, juice, and chips?

I'm glad they didn't see my 3 year old's picture of me. They would have called the Men in Black to come and detain me for being an alien!

Wow, what a crazy story and outcome! :fire:

It could happen here ....:what: .

Does anyone have a link to the actual picture the 4-year old Canadian drew?

the father of child who drew the "gun Sketch" was heard mumbling something about ,,,

you take my children s "doodle art" from my COLD DEAD HANDS WHEN ?,,,,,,,,,,

later on being "truly Canadian",,,, he apologized to the Police for being unjustly arrested and searched, and promised to remove his kids from art class, and also destroy any pencils and crayons left carelessly stored around the family home, ( sarcasm with extreme prejudice)

on another note, the Police Chief of a Canadian Provincial Capital City ( Victoria BC)
was found guilty of several ( Careless and Unlawful storage of firearms)
and was EXCUSED with his APOLOGY and a promise to "Do Better" :banghead:

Scuba Steve:
This might be a shock about the hometown newspaper, so hang on...

Dozens of fellow (former NWA, now Delta ) staff who frequently passed through MSP Airport, and underwent both Initial and Recurrent Tng. there at Eagan, always called the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper "The Hammer and Sickle", as this common nickname clearly reflects the very abrasive, anti-establishment and (unpatriotic) leftist style of that so-called newspaper.

I can't imagine that the teaching world in the Twin Cities is not connected to the mentality of the "Hammer and Sickle" or to the throngs of leftists who lurk all over the areas of both the Univ. of Minnesota, or the nearby campus areas of Madison WI.

As a public school teacher in TX this is sad that the freedoms of the folks up North have been taken away with out a shot.

The folks up there are over reactionary even for Canada!

The words of a wise man. Time to wake up, the day is not far off.

Well its Canada and they dont have a bill of rights there and no legal right to own arms and its comming our way soon to or they are trying.

I think this may be the worst example of liberal thinking gone amuck that I have ever heard of. When my boys were young I had a pair of double guns hanging on the wall.

I read this on another (non-firearm) forum and we utterly outraged.

Let's hope this guy successfully sues the teacher, school, and cops into the stone age.

After his release, authorities asked Sansone to sign a document allowing a search of his house. He said he signed it, even though he had the option to decline.

Now that was stupid, even in Canada. I'll bet when the police individuals involved told the department lawyer or prosecutor what they had done that individual about crapped his pants and then told them they'd better get signed permission ASAP....knowing that they were completely in the wrong and could end up paying for this 4 year old college education.

What's curious to me is that the school said it wasn't just the drawing, but her comment that "that's Daddy's gun that he kills bad guys and monsters with." So apparently they decided to believe that her father owned a gun, but ignore the obvious fantasy element.

As for the "durn librals ruinting ejication" comments, I'm surprised some of you haven't found a way to blame Obama for this.

This has been going on long before the Obama administration. I have 5 kids from 30's to 8 years old so I have seen the decline from a unique perspective. I have watched our schools erode into what they have become today all over the country.

Actually, Canada DOES have a bill of rights. It's called the Charter of Rights.

Think about the liberal majority in the education machine. Next consider how many hours each day our children spend in class instruction, homework, and with liberal peers. Compare that with how much influence conservative parents exercise on their children. Who is winning the battle for the minds of the next generation?

My Товарищи and I are. We are creating a generation of Democratic Socialists who hold the individual right to guns sacred.

Man, if I had gotten in trouble for drawing a gun at school, then my parents would have been on first name basis with the personnel at the county jail.

as the father of a teacher that is extremely dedicated to her job, I find this statement both uninformed and offensive

How many Conservatives do you think would over react to something with guns? How many Liberals? Now think about the R to D ratio that someone posted regarding the teachers. What do you think would most likely happen?

It may not be your Daughter that would do something like this but there is a good chance that something involving guns would be overblown by a teacher.

Just one more reason Gerorge (Washington), Tom (Jefferson) and Ben (Franklin) told the Brits to take a hike and get out of their lives. And here I thought that China was bad on civil rights, I guess I was wrong, it's Canada.

This is very disturbing news. I wonder what the local Canadian community is doing about the violation of this man's rights. I know that if I were in the same situation, I would have the schoolteacher's and principal's heads on a platter. By setting in motion these actions to defame my reputation and place my family in potential moral and physical damage (remember they took the children away from home), these officials would have to issue a public apology and step down since they did the opposite of what they publicly stated.

Just an incidental thanks for the US forefathers, when my then 11 year old girl had a school report on the US constitution, she chose the second amendment and even had a picture of a 1911 posted for all to see.
