Hey Collin Leon,
I have a tap & die for cutting threads inside and outside for 3/4 in hardwood. Made for making wooden screw clamps for shop. The set is not cheap at about $79.00, but lasts forever. Do no attempt to cut threads on softwood dowels as they will merely crumble to pieces. I think Garrett Wade sells a set in 3/4 in

In my case, I would need to cut male thread on the hickory shaft and then female threads inside the steel T-fitting... I've never seen a tap that could cut that thick of threads in steel that would match with some wood threads...

Guess I didn't get it. Sorry. Best advice is probably what another suggested. Drill for a steel or wood cross pin. Then glue with a good epoxy on threads and pin. The tap and die are really useful only for all wood Construction. Again, sorry for misunderstanding on my part.

Hey, to each his own, but i have to agree with Owen and Carl. I see no advantage attracting that kind of attention. My Lolly Smith Blackthorn is my favorite too, and more than enough.

My wife bought me a blackthorn walking stick for Christmas a number of years ago. I still carry it on occasion and when I want to go to the head of lines. For a number of years, my doctor tried just about every kind of NSAID to control my osteoarthritis, but I needed one and sometimes two canes just to get around. After finding Mobic™ (generic is Meloxicam), I rarely need a cane! Right now, my brother has my German hickory cane because his knees are acting up.

I also have a yellow pine walking stick that would make a good substitute for a quarter staff if just a little short. I use it in the woods.

I'm not speaking for HSO, but my thinking maybe smiliar

Your cane needs to suit you. A hammer head of that style would look cool as HELL! on a cane.

However most prosecuters are fully aware of the "Harley Tool" that is popular with a certain group of fellas.

"In my opinion" If you were to crack someone with it, and that action be construed as a non self defence issue, it could go wrong for me (Hypothetically) Due to intent to cause damage. For the same reason I wouldn't have a "Human skull" figure as my my grip either.

Its like a guy who carries a bat in his car and uses it in a non baseball way. In of itself it can be questioned as intenet. However, with the presence of a ball and glove also in the car it gives support it was tnere for daseball practice etc.

Well so far I taken it into the courthouse and the local jail and all I have had said to me by LEO's and Judges is cool cane. I made it as a tribute to my Dads 50 years as GC and my 20 years in the business.

Well the Cane will be my friend from now own, the Dr said I have Osto Arthritis and 80% of my cartilage is gone in my right ankle. The Wife having some issues with me being as she said crippled at 46. We have had a very active lifestyle and a teenage daughter so it seems it is going to be an adjustment.

I need a walker

God bless you sir, prayers for a life in comfort and happiness.

On a lighter note do you have flames on you scooter. :) I put some on a friends and it lifted his spirits.

To keep tnis on topic I just made another cane and carved molan labe on it.

I rolled my ankle pretty bad a few weeks back and had to use a cane for real for a couple of days, that is after I got off crutches. It was no fun but the cane did allow me to get where I was going. Sometimes you just have to have it. It was a great comfort knowing that even in my crippled state I could still fight and give a good account of myself with that heavy stick in my hand.

I spent 2 years on crutches and 2 more years with a cane after a motorcycle wreck in '83... Still need a cane sometimes, especially on stairs...

I still ride though...

Had a hard time coming to grips with my infirmity after my injury.

Not a biblical passage but something a PT told me.

It is what it is, dont make it something it is not. Kind of like inovate, adapt, overcome.

It been a thing I had to pray hard about to get a peace about it. Never would have thought playing sports and working to keep in shape would one day show up to bite me in the butt. I still working out on a bike and doing some lifting but I am taking it easy on the 600 + pound leg presses. I really doubt I will ever load up the machine to that level again. I am going to tape it up and climb one more Mountian before I stop hiking for good this Summer. We climb Enchanted Rock in South Texas every 10 years as a little Tradition in our family. I fear this will be my last time.

I carry a cane because I can legally get away with it in places where my 2A rights have been infringed.

Nope, not old enough to carry a cane. Granted, its not far off. Until then, the 1911 shall work.

Yes you are. There is no minimal age limit to carry a cane and it is the ONLY weapon you can carry on an air plane. Maybe you got hurt playing high school football, maybe you didn't, but it does not matter because that is confidential medical information. You can legally cary a cane ANYWHERE.

I'm way too young to be carrying a cane or walking stick around, folks would look upon it very strangely in town...
