The stock color does look different in that picture, more like the blonde that I expected from a later model Chicom.
From the pics, looks like a nice, clean late model Chicom - if it does not work for you, I wish you the best of luck getting a good price for it so you can buy something that does.
Mine is pretty similar to yours. Recently I visited my parents with my family, and my teenage son had been asking about going out shooting. I still had the SKS in my parents closet that I had purchased in the early '90s so I pulled it out and headed up the street to a pasture with my dad and son. My dad actually remembers taking my brother and I to the gun show where I bought the SKS, and he remembers I paid about $98 with 100 rounds of Norinco yellow box ammo.
We all got a turn with the SKS, and I have to say I was impressed with the rifle - the length of pull is way too short, and the trigger is junk - but after shooting with my dad and son, the asking price went from $98 to priceless.
