Colt 6920 question

My next one will have an 18" barrel + comp or flash hider.
And a rifle length gas system.

The .223/5.56 lives and dies on high velocity.
Why handicap it any further for the looks of a 14.5" + pinned on muzzle device??

The M4's "14.4" barrel so the bayonet fits" velocity loss is about the ONLY thing wrong with the M4 now.

The Current 6920's are wearing 16" Barrels......

Some opt for the 20" Hbar barrel...I dont know how much gain would be made with the 20" barrel, but I am sure someone here does.

True. But my 6920 has a practical use of 300 yards or less. And heavy hot 5.56 OTM's will make a mess of anyone at that range, even with shorter barrel velocity. I'm trimming the barrel down to 14.5 to make better use of improvised positions in CQB senerios, and for better speed with less swing weight. It just feels and handles better for me.

I have a 18" BCM Mk12 SPR upper, rifle gas length, DD14 rail, for longer range work.

One of my 2 LE 6920 with Aimpoint CompM4s and 3x scope on LaRue quick release mounts. Scope is swivel mounted. Pedicure not included.

Dont't sell your carbine short. You can make hits out to 425 with a 16 inch 6920. I have done it regularly with a fixed 4x scope. Now what the bullet would actually DO at that range might be debateable, but I'd still treat it as a lethal projectile. It sure still rings steel at that range.

A 20 inch rifle is far better suited out past that.
