Reliant Ammo

I just placed an order for 40cal, 45cal, 38 special, and .223. I will post a report once I get out to the range with it. Also I found out that if you type in the coupon code 5OFF you get $5 off your order.

Only FMJ and JHP on the calibers I looked at. No lead? Somehow I have a hard time imagining them being that "green" in Arizona. The .45 Colt is still expensive and no lead bullets? The .38 Speical is overpriced and no lead bullets? I'd pay that much for a box of 50 LSWCHP at standard pressure but not for FMJ or JHP. At least the bullet weights are right for fixed sights.

I may try some of the 9mm for cheap practice ammo, but I can't imagine using it for anything important. Be nice if they at least had a NATO spec +P round if I were to buy 9mm FMJ from them; at least that would give good practice for my Talon carry rounds.

Just placed an order for two boxes after reading through this thread. I'm used to ordering from Cabelas which averages at least $6 more per box of 50. (I buy .40 cal). The shipping was a little high, but with a $5 coupon code it's about the same. I'd love for these to be awesome. I enjoy saving money.

Gi jared did shipping seem high?
I ordered 550 rounds of various calibers and shipping was $23.63, this is from their plant in Idaho to where I live in Wisconsin. Sales tax on my order would of been around half of what the shipping was if I had bought all this ammo local. However, the ammo is priced very nice so it makes up for the difference.

I received my order of Reliant Ammo today and thought I would post a few pics so everyone could see what the ammo looks like and how it is packaged. Also, on the Reliant website they state that a signature is required upon delivery, but the UPS guy who delivered it told me that it wasn't needed. I will post again once I get out to the range with a report of how well the ammo worked.

Got out to the range yesterday with some of the Reliant ammo. I shot 50 rounds of .45acp FMJ, 50 rounds of .40cal FMJ, and 13 rounds of .40 JHP. No issues and the ammo was pretty accurate in both my Sig229 and Glock 21. Below is a pic of one of my groupings with my G21, 25yards standing, Each square is 1"x1". Too bad I pulled that little guy to the left.

Cool!
I'd like to see the ballistics of his 44 mag out of a rifle.
I may need to order a few boxes.

Received a box of 9mm and 40. Took a week to get here despite shipping from Spokane (yet they did not charge for tax, I live in Washington).

9mm has FC brass.

40 uses "Armscor USA" brass. I though Armscor was off shore.

Bullets look like copper plated. Supposed to be FMJ. Lots of dings and divots in bullet surface under the plating / jacket.

Powder looks like power pistol in both.

OAL variation on the 40 greater than other commercial ammo. 0.100" variation or so between rounds. Sloppy.

Ran it all through a variety of guns. Accuracy fine. Not misfires. Recoil was very light. Will chrony what I have left next time out. Good cheap plinking ammo.

Those prices don't seem that great compared to other cheap ammo.
I would rather pay extra for domestically made stuff instead of buying ammo from countries where people and their leaders hate us. I made new year resolution not a penny from my pocket to them.

I think Idaho is still ours.

BBDartCA you said that the col varied .100? I would assume that is a typo, if not you shouldnt shoot anymore of this ammo and should call reliant to tell them. What were they measuring at?
I glanced at their web page and the prices seemed good for new brass cased ammo. I would get some but the only loaded ammo I buy now is rimfire.

I shoot 100 rounds of 45 fmj (new) in my Ruger P90 and 1911. All rounds fired and the accurancy was just as good as the brand names. The ammo was cheaper even with shipping, than wal-mart wwb ammo. :)
