I was able to fabricate two Steel Guide Rods that match the original factory plastic one. These took two of us an hour each one to make using my limited tools in the garage. They are very cool and should work well. We actually had to turn down and decrease the diameter of my Full Length Guide Rods for the CZ97b. We plan on doing more if there is interest. These two will be tested in a PCR and a P-01 this weekend at the range and will be resized if needed. I doubt it will be required as they are pretty perfect now. Email me at [email protected] and also post here if you want one. First come first served otherwise we will be building more within the next week.
The pictures show the two steel ones and the original black plastic one.
They are for sale for $25.00 shipped each. Since these are the first ones, if you buy one and don't like it, I will refund your money.

I have a PCR, and have been very happy with its performance. What would be the advantage of a steel guide rod over the factory GR?

Well, not to speak for 12 volt or anything, but steel has a strength advantage of course...whether that strength is NEEDED in a guide rod is up for debate..

The added weight at the barrel end of the gun can tame recoil a bit.

I CAN tell you the difference.......:D

Ive had 4 CZ Compacts and have run every kind of rod available in them. The Steel offers nothing in the way of reliability over the new OEM plastic version......unless the plastic one breaks. Given Ive not heard of this happening......but dont like plastic parts in my guns......AT ALL!

The steel rod also offers smoother slide cycling in all of the guns Ive tried them in as there is less flex on the rod itself and thus less spring bind during compression.

I just installed my 12Volt guide rod last night and the difference in the smoothness was quite noticeable.

Shoot well.

Those guys are correct. There is really nothing to gain functionally buy having a steel one over plastic. It can make your action smoother. I think it looks better and I am with PCRCCW when he says NO PLASTIC.

For what it's worth, I've seen plastic guide rods break or get alot of wear really fast in other gun designs (Colts and Glocks).

LOL George... You say it as only you can. :D

Yes, personally, If I had a CZ (and I will someday  ) I wouldn't want any plastic in it... I might be able to tolerate plastic grips.
