How many holsters did you try (buy) for CC before you "got it right"?

For my Kel-Tec PF-9, I've used two. One is a IWB unit that was (and sometimes still is) worn between the belt and pants. I have since switched to a belt-slide OWB unit that seems "pretty close" to right, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get it totally "right".

2 ..................

But I am not strapping on a Desert Eagle, five magazines, four pepper sprays, three big knives, two backup guns........
................and an armed partridge in a pear tree. ;)

I have a shoulder rig made by blackhawk and for the money I spent on it I could be a lot happier. Not with the quality but with the convenience of it. Unless you carry open it is a major pain in the butt to draw from.
I'm looking into other holsters that will fit comfortably on my strong side / right handed and still handle a CZ 83 sized gun. Any recommendations?

I bought a milt sparks versa max 2 for my first holster.I have bought several more since then after trying a few other brands.I also got a milt sparks belt that fits really nice.I tried a beltman belt and think it is good quality but its a little too thick for my holster and belt loops.

I've been carrying concealed for about 40 years with several different guns but mostly Colt 1911's. I have found the perfect holster several times and I'm still looking. My two current favorites are a Wild Bill's speed scabbard and a Brommeland MaxCon V both for my Colt Lightweight Government Model. My Colt Agent revolver rides in a Mika pocket holster. These are working great for now.................but there is tomorrow.;)

I started with a Keltec PF9 in a pocket holster. A close to home active shooter incident made me realize this setup was next to worthless in certian situations.

Then came a IWB parker holster and a glock 32 ditched the 32 because of bullet setback and being a PITA to handload for. I still use it from time to time to carry a G34, bought a G26 but never have bonded with it (probably get traded off tomorrow). Never could get to where I could quite "forget I'm carrying" with this setup, printed more than I liked too.

Bought a glock 20....that wasn't happening. too wide for me

Next came a taurus 44spl titanium and a cheap generic K frame pancake holster, I could forget I was carrying w this setup, ordered a custom bell charter oak M&PIII holster. In the meantime bought (not with ccw in mind) a S&W 60-18 in 357 magnum that my hand bonded with and is as natural as pointing my finger. Found it fits in the custom holster better than the taurus it was made for amd that the 60 DISAPPEARS under a shirt.

I'm sitting on the couch sipping coffee typing this still wearing my 60

One word Clipdraw. I use it on my S&W 640. I sold the whole shoe box full of holsters on ebay. Yea I herd all the you'll shoot your self comments and you must cover the trigger guard. But guess what 10 years later and the the boys are still there. That being said some guns do carry better with a holster. But on the S&W J frames it works out great.....for me anyway.

For many years I used a Bianchi Model 100 IWB holster and still do occasionally, depending on what I'm carrying and how I'm dressed. For several years now I've been using the Crossbreed "Super Tuck" which I have a number of for different pistols. I also am particularly partial to Mernickle holsters, both belt and IWB. Also use some of the High Noon IWB holsters, some of which are "tuckable" too. Of all of them I find the Crossbreed holsfers offer the fastest presentation, but which holster I wear depends entirely on how I'm dressed and what I happen to be carrying. It's easy to become a "holster junkie", but every one I have serves a purpose, "absolute invisibility' and quick presentation being my primary concerns.

The number of holsters one owns would be strongly influenced by the number of different guns one owns and the conditions i.e. climatic seasons, types of activities and clothes.
At present time, I own one IWB and a bunch of OWB holsters.

I nailed it first try by really watching all the holster threads and learning about the various makers. I picked one and got 2 holsters that I wore extensively until said maker wound up ripping me off so I will not name him.

Then I bought a Sparks VMII from Lightning Arms, a Galco Miami Classic 2 shoulder rig and a Cuda from Simply Rugged. All keepers.

a fair bunch

But as far as a drawer full or a box full of unused holsters, I learned a valuable lesson in grade school:
One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Put your unwanted holsters on eBay, or here on THR, or any other firearms-related board.

I own zero unwanted holsters. :)

My answer to this question is NONE! IWB, Shoulder, OWB, ankle or any other around the waist holsters have not satisfied me and yes, I have a drawer full of holsters. I am comfortable with only one type of holster and that is the Front Pocket Holster! I have carried small and large guns in my front pocket and they are always comfortable and work great for me. My EDC is the Glock 36 and It works very well in my cargo pants which I wear all the time here in Florida. I work Part Time as a Security Officer on a unarmed site but I carry my Taurus TCP 380 in my right front pocket in a Super Fly Holster. I do on occasion, cary my G 36 or G 26 in my AIWB holster which I can sometimes tolerate. But Front Pocket is my Favorite and works for me.

I went through quite a few before deciding on the Galco king tuck for my g 19/g27.
I tried the: wild bills concealment, nate sqare tactical, elite iwb, Tagua, and a fobus paddle hoster.
