I just bought an m27-2 in great shape. Doesn't look like it's been used much and definitely never abused. I would like a little info on this one, how much do you think it would be worth?

Thanks for the reply! I got it off a buddy for $350 lol it's my fifth pinned and recessed, my 6th s&w revolver, and my first n frame as well as nickel plated gun.

That's definitely a steal, no two ways about it. I'm nickle with envy. The grips alone could be sold for probably half what you paid.

Very nice! Looks like target hammer and trigger also. IMO the Model 27-2 is as high quality a revolver as the Colt Python.

1)Yes, that is a beautiful nickel 27-2 and I have one just like it.

2)Notice in the photo the light scratches in the center of the cylinder-which is in line with the front sideplate screw. I believe that screw has loosened and has backed out enough to have caused these scratches and needs to be tightened to avoid further damage to the cylinder whenever it is rotated when the crane is opened!

Thank you everyone! What's a good load for these? I dont have a standardized .357 mag load. I have an rcbs 150 grain swc mould. As well as an old school lyman 158 gr. RN. I use the latter for a standard .38 sPecial load and the swc for +P. both using 30-1 tin:lead. I have about 240 lbs of lyman #2 alloy Im assuming will be a good alloy? I prefer to shoot only my cast handloads as often as possible. They are all I shoot in my wheelguns.

And yea he asked me how much i thought i could sell it for and i said i think between 7 and 8, maybe even 900 to the right person.

And slick6, im alittle confused as to what youre talking about (its late :p ) I see the scratches but what causes them? i dont have the gun here to look at.
