Taurus PT 1911?

I think Taurus would be smart to chamber their model 1911 in .38 Super;

They do, CDNN recenly had a sale on the "pimp" model with gold accents. I believe its been on the market longer than the 9mm variation. I'd like to see one in .40S&W just to be different.

I was just responding to the question about a Taurus pistol with 10,000 rounds. I've seen lots of comments from other shooters that have had excellent results with their Taurus pistols too.

Thanks, I've never had any issues with my Taurus pistols either but only my PT-92 has seen any serious round count, although the PT-1911 9mm will get there eventually.

I just traded for a Taurus 1911 today. I have owned an RIA Tactical for about 2 years. It has been flawless through about 2000 rounds. i hope the Taurus shoots just as well. I'm left handed so the ambi safeties on both guns are a + for me.

Mine has around 400 rounds through it -- various loads, HP's, and some very questionable handloads -- and has been totally reliable so far. And very accurate, too.

i've owned two taurus pistols before back in the late nineties,don't think i would ever risk buying any more of their products. they have some good ideas and designs but the quality is lacking.

I've owned my Taurus PT1911 for about 3 years. I've put a couple thousand rounds through it with almost no issues. The only issue I've had was with one of the factory mags, so I use CMC mags now. It's been 100% reliable with every factory ammo I've tried including multiple types of hollow points. I use it with 230gr HP's for my ccw piece. Since I carry it most every day, the finish is pretty beat up. But that's acceptable to me.

I have had one for about 2 years, Put 4-5000 rounds through it so far no problems with the gun itself but i didn't care for the mags.i broke the extractor with my negligence, i found the firing pin block is not true series 80, the location of the plunger is not the same and a series 80 extractor will not hold it in. a phone call to taurus and i had a new one a week later.
