Hey guys,

In your experience, how much would it cost to anodize the bottom metal and trigger guard for a hunting rifle?

Depends on the company.
Most plating companies charge a certain amount per bath regardless of the number of pieces.....as long as they all could fit in the tank.
You might check and see when they are doing another batch and ask what they would charge to add your parts. If they are setting up to do some parts for another customer and that customers parts will only partially fill the tank, there should be room to throw your stuff in as well.
Last time I had a quantity of scope bases to be hard black anodized it ran about $80 per tank.

Good luck.

Unless the $90 and lead time Ford wants is chump change to you, try reaching out to any friends you may have in manufacturing.

Vast numbers of companies use anodizers/platers for a variety of parts, especially anything aerospace related. Vast.

For example:

In another lifetime, I was a purchasing manager for a medical device manufacturer. I probably averaged a trip a day over to the anodizers (we dropped off and picked up our orders to trim turn around time, they were only 5 minutes or so away).

As long as you didn't want anything special done, I could've had your pieces done free and turned around in less than a week. But I'd probably insist on shooting the rifle too.

If you wanted hard coat and dyed, think 2 weeks and you're probably buying lunch for me and the scheduler at the platers. And I'd still insist on shooting the rifle.

HTH
