had a good laugh the other day. while doing laundry i looked out the window at my car and had a thought. Me to myself : "i'm Mr. Walking arsenal, i like guns, i carry A sometimes A FEW gun(s), i go to the range on a weekly basis and practice shooting for social situations, im a 2 year graduate of wilderness survival, i volunteer search and rescue, when im on a training excersise that sucks i wish it would suck more so i can experience it (sigh) and this is what i drive, a steel blue kia rio? IT"S A CUTE CAR!!!! shouldnt it be a hummer or harrier jet or somthing with a belt fed weapon on the roof for crying out loud!! :banghead:

so what does everyone else drive, all you defensive handgun eat nails for breakfast without milk types. does anyone else drive a car that doesnt quite seem right?

on the upside, no one expects a guy drving a rio, carrying a laundry basket and wearing an underdog t-shirt to be packing a glock .357 and a reload,

does anyone else share that opinion? cars=urban camo?

keep your powder dry.:D

Fella's;

I drive the well-known 30/40 Jimmy. It's a 1976 camper special, which means 1 ton axles, N205 all-gear transfer case, & H.D. clutch. 4-speed of course. Long box, dual tanks, & a genuine rust-bucket. But it's a rust-bucket with a 350, 4 barrel engine. Since it's not a beauty queen, I could shoot back at a bad guy, but then again, I could just hit 'em with the heavy artillery.

Well, I guess they know what to expect from me. 3/4 ton 4x4 diesel, 'wife beater' t-shirt, ball cap, tobacco stains down the side, big brush guard, no muffler and oversized tires. Well, not quite all of them are true all of the time.........

Gotsta have one of them pickemup trucks if you want to enter the contest for the 'redneck cup' that we talk about in the shotgun forum occasionaly :p

first car, '73 chev truck 307 v8 and worthless for hauling gravel (rust holes)
second, 88 chev corsica 2.0 4 cyl
3rd 02 kia rio 1.5 liter 4 cyl (but it gets good milage)

huh, started right and went downhill from there

83 Fairmont with a mild 302/C4. Top speed: unknown. I got a little nervous at 140mph and backed off.

94 Caprice 9C1 (police package) with a 4.3 V8. My Fairmont will smoke it, both in top speed (well, i havent topped it out, feels kinda dead in high gears though) and acceleration, however it corners, rides and brakes a lot better. Much more pleasurable drive at 70-80mph or on a curvy road than my Fairmont ever was.

Somehow, I see this getting locked for being OT.

Um they dont make a 4.3 v8 4.3 is a v6 police package for that year should be a corvette motor 5.7 or american #s 350 cubic inch.. Might be year or 2 early for a LT1 motor

I don't need no stinkin' car!!!

You can see me on the bus. Usually, this time of year, in a wool Filson coat with shearling collar. Otherwise, denim jacket. I would probably be the last person anyone would ever expect to have a gun. Bald, gray beard, slightly shabby looking old coot. I own three guns--but no car. Priorities, I guess.:D

Pack a Gov't model and J-Frame. I normally in business formal nearly everyday so I obviously drive a...

Um, they did make a 4.3 V8. 265 CID. They call it the "baby LT1" since its externally the same as its bigger brother. The difference in the two is the short block, the 4.3 obviously had a smaller bore and stroke. Well, the fuel injectors are different too, along with the computer. Maybe the heads, cant remember...

the 4.3 was the B-body base motor. LT1 was optional in sedans, standard in Impalla SS's and wagons.

The 4.3 V8 was used in "dectective cars" to keep costs down, or so I've read.

Never saw one in the the years we worked on them at the Gm dealership till 97 when i left for better job ..cant see whybother kicking it up to a v8 for such small size .. id like to see one just for heck of it..

I got looking around and i stand corrected your right there is one a 94-95 only $$ 4200 for a new one and almost the same for rebuilt one ouch on sites i found it ..

Looks just like an LT1. Youd know the difference if ya rode in it though;)

All the B body LT1 cars came with factory dual exhaust, none of the L99 (4.3) cars did.

edit: LT1 is about a grand more, brand new.

whered you get that engine price from? I'm planning on an LT1 in the future and just need a good reman short block, since I'll add aftermaket heads and cam.

computer can be re-programed, the only difference in electronics is that the LT1 had bigger injector, i think. I'll have all my research done by the time I can afford the LT1.

Banged up GMC 1/2 ton extended cab short bedwith dented wheelwells and beaat upide panels. Only has 200,000 miles on it. TXmsn replaced at 110,000 miles. engine in good shape. Not for sale.

I carry my Beretta 96 all day and if that doesnt work I can run off in my 2500 with a Hemi.

I drive a tan 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. Very understated and it goes quick enough for city use ;)
