May 25-27
Shivworks Practical Unarmed Combatives & Extreme Close Quarters Concepts ($400 for all, $100 for PUC only)

This is the coursework for dealing with the criminal ambush. If you can handle your gun in a safe manner, you are welcome to attend, but realize that this is NOT an introductory level class. PUC is a prerequisite for ECQC & covers the criminal assault paradigm, how to spot when things are going to go bad, avoidance techniques and how to regain the initiative if you cannot avoid the assault. Craig has spent 20 years on the study of the criminal assault in his corrections, undercover & SWAT roles. PUC is a great stand-alone course for those who are not interested in, or comfortable with, the full ECQC coursework.

ECQC builds on the PUC foundation & we start integrating pistols in both live fire and force on force drills. The live work is heavily focused on getting the pistol in play in an appropriate and effective manner, with a drawstroke that is optimized for the extremely close range fight. We also work accessing the weapon in a physically confined environment and within a vehicle. The force on force drills allow the students to develop the physical and mental skills needed to deal with close-range pre & in fight scenarios.

Ammo: 500 rounds pistol, Simunitions guns and ammo provided

June 9-10
Options for Personal Security Surgical Speed Shooting ($350)

Missing is the sickness, Surgical Speed Shooting is the cure. If you want to learn how to make quick, effective hits this is the class to take. We start off with a breakdown of the drawstroke process and why we do things the way we do. From there we build your shooting platform and grip to help minimize the effects of recoil, instability and inconsistency. Once you have that base we start turning up the speed. Surgical Speed Shooting is all about how to shoot both quickly and accurately within a varied context. Topics also include target transitions, reloads, transitioning from high to low or low to high probability targets, shooting on the move, distance as it relates to the application of speed and accuracy and more.

Ammo: 1000 rounds pistol

July 28-29
Progressive FORCE Concepts Progressive Handgun 1 Fighting Foundation and Progressive Handgun 2 Fighting Positions

Progressive Handgun 1 Fighting Foundation ($200)

PH1 represents the cutting edge of combative pistol shooting with an emphasis on concealed carry applications and personal defense scenarios. This course is the cornerstone of the PFC Progressive Shooting Doctrine and aims to teach students the tactical fundamentals and a fighting mindset. Training topics include the Handgun System & Support Gear, Use of Force, Fundamentals of Shot Placement, Combative Marksmanship, PFC Shooting Responses, Ready & Carry Positions, Presentations, Administrative & Combative Gun-handling, System Refunction Drills, Bilateral Weapon Operation and After-Action Ready Measures. Military and law enforcement personnel receive a $25.00 tuition discount. There are no prerequisites for attendance.

Ammo: 500 rounds pistol

Progressive Handgun 2 Fighting Positions ($200)-

Extended ranges, angles of engagement, injuries and barricades often require usage of special positions and tactics to maximize fighting effectiveness. The proper understanding of mechanics, assumption, stability, protection, adaptation and improvisation can dictate the outcome of a fight. Training topics include a Combative Manipulations review, the Kneeling Series, the Guard Series, the Fetal Series, forward & vertical assumption, bilateral application, Principles of Using Barricades, Barricade Position Drills, Barricade Tactics, acquiring & vacating cover, Unorthodox Positions, and tactical shooting exercises. Military and law enforcement personnel receive a $25.00 tuition discount.

Ammo: 500 rounds pistol

[strike]August 18-19[/strike]
Rob Haught Tactical Shotgun ($400)

ETA - RESCHEDULED to Sept. 15 - 16

The shotgun is considered by many to be the close quarters defensive weapon. Except for the recoil, and the size, and the recoil, and the limited capacity, and the recoil, and the slow reloading, and the recoil… Rob’s focus is on teaching students how to run their shotguns using the push/pull method in order to help cut felt recoil nearly in half. If you want to learn how to shoot 3-5 shots/second with your pump shotgun and not beat yourself silly in the process, this is your class. Rob also focuses on a CQB technique that effectively shortens the length of the shotgun by a third. The class will also cover manipulations, shooting on the move, equipment and ammo selection, patterning, low light considerations, transitions to the pistol and a number of other, very relevant topics. Rob is considered by many to be the modern day shotgun guru and he only teaches a handful of open enrollment classes a year. Come on out to learn to use your shotgun well and help us break in a load of new (okay, okay, maybe slightly used by August) steel targets.

Ammo: [strike]600 rounds shotgun 300 rounds pistol[/strike]
300 rounds birdshot, 50 rounds buckshot, 10 slugs, 50 rounds pistol.

Guys, we have less than a week to go and still have room if you're interested. If you want to take just PUC or PUC & ECQC 1 on Sat that's fine too. Contact info is on the site & flyers if you have any questions.

Looking forward to seeing you in a class Dave.

Strongly recommend the Friday MUC course for anyone in the area who doesn't want to commit time or money for a whole weekend. No amount of time reading and discussing tactical and legal issues matches experiential learning that gives you skills and legally defensible articulable tactics. Best $100 you will spend.

Hey guys, we're a month out from the PFC classes. They're handling all the registrations from their website, but if you have any questions about the local side of things please let me know.

Yankee, PUC is the Practical Unarmed Combatives portion of Southnarc's ECQC program & is a prerequisite for ECQC.

If you were referring to PFC, that is Progressive FORCE Concepts- the company we're bringing out in July for a couple days of handgun training.

Getting close to the PFC classes. Direct registration links on the PFC site are below.
