I recently purchased the subject revolver, at what I thought was a fair price,
($449, you tell me) and tonight I took it to the range with some .38+p and .357.
I was impressed on a number of levels.
First, the smooth trigger pull, it was all I had read it would be.
Next, aiming... at close range, 3 yards, which I think to be SD distance, it hit where I aimed, with both calibers, and grouped well. Again at seven yards, I was putting the bullets where I meant to. All rounds were well inside center of mass. Have not tried quick follow up shots yet, next time I will. Just wanted to get the feel of it. But from the hip, one handed firing, not using the sights, again, it hit where I pointed it.
Finally, it was manageable. I wouldn't want to shoot it all day with magnums, 'cuz after a couple of five shot rounds my hand told me so, but it wasn't awful to shoot.
At 3 yards with .357 it knocked the hanging paper target right out of the clips... twice. That, and the thunderous report, was what caused the other shooters to gather around to ask what I was shooting.
The only fault I found was that empty casings did not push fully out of the cylinder and drop, I had to pull some of them out with my fingernails... not good from the standpoint of having to do a combat reload. But I figure that with the way it shoots, in a SD situation, reloading shouldn't have to come in to play...
All in all, to me, this Ruger LCR is a winner on all levels.
Anyone have similar experience with this same revolver? Comments?
