other than the obvious answer of them being in high demand is there something else causing EVERY model of the browning buckmark to be completely out of stock everywhere?

is browning stopping production for bigger projects?

or do they only make "X" amount at a time for a year?

the one in particular that I wanted is the 7.25 inch bbl URX contour but I would have settled for any URX model and bought the bbl assembly separate
so I went a step further and checked on ANY buckmark and im turning up zilch other than GB

Interesting. I have not looked locally, but just checked Bud's and Davidson's online and none are in stock

My understanding is they do make them in batches.

They are also moving away from the plastic sight base on the Camper modelss and everything will get the metal sight base.

Possibly those two things are the reason. Theres been very limited supply for a few months now.

I bought one a couple of years ago. I had to search high and low for a specific model I wanted with certain specific features, so it doesn't seem like anything new. I really wanted to buy locally, but Bud's was the only supplier that had what I wanted.

I asked this question on rimfirecentral a month ago or so and the answer was that they make two (IIRC?) batches a year, and that maybe we're between batches.

Seems like they're still out there online and elsewhere, but definitely harder to find than when I bought mine a year ago.

Many products are made in batches.

Some electronics are made in a single batch and not ever made again.

There market life is not expected to be long enough to keep the item in production.

Just about every desirable gun of any make is in short supply right now.

Ruger has even had to stop taking orders while they try to catch up on back orders.

I doubt Browning is any different.

I'm glad I already have the two Buck Marks that I need. :D

Seriously, I am truly glad to see that Browning is finally addressing the plastic sight base issue with their Camper models. One of my pistols is a Camper model, and my sight base cracked. I had to fit it with a metal sight base on my own dime.

hmm interesting...

does anyone know of a local shop with said browning model available (buckmark contour 7.25 URX) thats willing to do an FFL transfer if so PM me

other than that im out of luck untill a new batch is made I guess

odd question but...
on sons of guns Will used a guy to track down a hard to find model for him once (maybe twice) does anyone know of a service for the average joe to do this?
more curiosity than serious idea but its something to ponder

Dimis, I have a Buck Mark - non cataloged 4" stainless bull barrel, 3 mag's, holster, hiviz and original front site, was just getting ready to list it for sale, has about 50 rounds through it.

Just bought it two weeks ago and decided to go a different direction on a specific use I had in mind.

Email me if you're interested in talking: [email protected]

It's another election year, and the choices are "Fric and Frac"
Fric hates guns and owners
Frac, well we're not just to sure about Romney

@gunny thats just too funny

@RC thanks man but I was thinking of someone who could find the specific model but I appreciate the effort

@Cp I think Im going to hold off untill the 7.25 comes my way but thanks for the offer

Ill get it sooner or later but I would rather wait to get what I want vs. buying one in a hurry just to say I did

That is the way most gun purchases should be. But I as have probably many others did the opposite.

But, it did give us an extra gun after we bought the one we really wanted.:D

Good if they don't jack up the price by more than the $8 Brownell's sells the aluminum replacement!

The ~$8 base doesnt include the actual sight that you need to mount to the metal base.

The sight thats on the plastic base wont mount to the metal base. At least currently they dont.

Currently, to covert over from the plastic base set up to the metal base set up, it a ~$60 venture.

Not only are Buckmarks scarce, their prices seem to have really risen recently. They are getting to the point of pricing themselves out of the market, IMHO.

If you plan to let any young kids shoot, think that one over. Even the 5" bull barrel is heavy for my son (granted, he's only 9). After a few 325 round boxes in a row, it gets heavy to most adults, too. :)

Coming from a guy who's bought a few hard to get items over the past few months, I've noticed the price on nearly everything jumped up by $35 or more. I think it is the market demand driving the price up (more a reseller issue than a browning issue), and not just for buckmarks.

My (perhaps ill) advice, just save your money. Guns will be cheaper in a year when everyone has to sell them to pay for insurance!

Here she is

Pics cause it soooo happened lol
