This sounds like a cheap personal add, but what am I to do?

I am fairly new to Washington state and would like to find others that like to shoot, reload and/or collect guns. My wife, while supportive, does not share the same enthusiasm. PM me if you need a shooting partner or would be willing to introduce me to your shooting friends.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Why not a personal ad to find shooting buddies. Good thinking. I live in NY. Nobody in NY is friendly. We turn each other in. lol

Welcome to the area.
I'm about 45 minutes to the north of you and shoot at a range 10 more minutes north of me.

There are 3 ranges in your general vacinity being Cascade, Tacoma Rifle & Revolver, and Paul Bunyan. I know several guys that shoot those ranges and depending on what type of shooting you are looking to do, I may know who you could contact for club info. I'm familiar with the CMP and smallbore guys.

Hey, Lakewood resident here. I don't really have many shooting buddies; in fact due to available funds I don't get to go much. But I really like the folks at Bullseye in Tacoma, its the range I go to when I can scrape up some funds for ammo.

+1 on Paul Bunyan. They have shotgun range, 200 yard rifle range, and a outdoor pistol range that's covered and enclosed on three sides.

I'm a member of Paul Bunyan. Free invite/range fee waived if anyone wants to go with me as my guest sometime.

The only unusual rule is max load 8 rounds per mag.

stop poaching potential members lead and go back to the other site lol

tacoma sportsmans has covered private and covered public rifle ranges, covered pistol, covered archery ranges, skeet and clay, dedicated covered 22lr range, and a shotgun lane for test patterns..

What are the actual rules at Paul Bunyan? I looked on their site, but didn't see range rules listed.

They're in the club's Bullsheet: http://www.pbrsc.org/index_files/Page459.htm

When I joined they said the 8 round rule came from the Garand. In a nutshell they prohibit more than 1 round per second and firing Draco 'pistols' on the pistol range (apparently someone didn't get the concept that the pistol range baffles and backstop weren't intended for rifle calibers).

It only costs $90 a year to be a member and they're open from 8:00 - 22:00, 7 days a week. You do have to check the calendar before making the drive; I think the reason they can keep the fee so cheap is that they hold so many events there.

Thanks

I appreciate all the great leads posted. I was a member of Black Diamond, but let it lapse. Now, both Black Diamond and Cascade appear to be full for the year.

Paul Bunyan is probably almost as close as Black Diamond to me. I think I will check them out first. Big thanks to Leadcounsel for offering to take me as a guest. I have never been to Tacoma Sportsmans. What are their annual dues?

I also love shooting outdoors up at Capitol Peak, but the weekends get a little too hairy. I prefer to go during the week or later on in the weekend afternoon when it's quieter and less chance of running into people who's only gun experience came from watching TV. :scrutiny: I always bring trash bags to help clean up when done.

If any of you in the Auburn, Kent, Tacoma area that would like to loosely organize some shooting dates and times, let me know and we'll make it happen.
