I just bought a .58 cal 1855 musket from Cabelas. It's my first Chiappa and my first musket. From what I've read I should only use RWS caps and not CCI. is that correct? And is there a nipple for this to use #11's (my other 58's use them) Also I make my own .570 balls and use .010 lubed patches in my others will this work in this one?

The .570 ball should be fine. I shoot my 58 cal with .570 ball and the .010 patch. You might also try the .015 patch its tight but might provide better results. Gets hard to do with a dirty bore.

cci are not what they use to be. they have been redesigned for the reinactores. I would slug the barrel and get a minnie .002 under bore dia. these were designed to shoot minnies rifleing is very shallow. load somewhere around 42 of 3fffg. I use goex. personaly I would stick w/ musket caps.
