Are you dead set on a clone?

I just picked up one from this sellers website, and I was tickled pink when I got it. It says "made in czechoslovakia" on the slide, a country that doesn't exist anymore...and its the real deal, I found one offered that was in really good shape aside from some holster wear, and it is a reliable, accurate tank of a gun.
The only cz clone I've owned was a Tanfoglio TA90, which was a nice shooting gun, very accurate, but had fail to feed issues with many HP rounds.

I came real close to getting the AR-24. It just felt fantastic in my hand. I don't think I've ever felt a pistol that felt better than that.

Get the Stingray. If enough of them sell maybe someone will start importing Canik55s full line of pistols and that would be awesome. They have a lot of cool pistols that aren't sold here, yet...

It depends. Do you like Tanfoglio-based pistols or CZ-based pistols? The Sarsilmaz/Armalite pistols are based on Tanfoglio's improvements to the CZ. The Canik, as far as I can tell, is based on the CZ original.

I prefer Tanfoglio's improvements, particularly their superior firing pin block design - introduced before CZ introduced one, and so was patent protected when CZ came out with the "B" option. I also like avoiding the magazine brake. But, I like CZ's a whole bunch and the Canik is nice. For me, in 9mm, I am always tempted to go with a CZ. As I'm a 45 kind of guy, Tanfoglio's are better with their more efficient grip frame over the CZ-97.

Do the EAA Witness compact magazines work with the Canik? I've read they work with the Armalite. Also, is there much of a difference between the Sarsilmaz Hancer and the Armalite?

I believe the difference between the Hancer and the Armalite will be cosmetic.

In 9mm small-frame Tanfoglio-based guns, don't forget the Rock Island MAP. It is a true Tanfoglio small-frame with traditional lines and cheaper than most of the rest.

Anyone know if the Canik's frames are forged or cast? In the long run it may not matter, but it is another point of comparison for me.

I have an 80's Tanfoglio TZ-75 in 9mm and love it. I just got new Hogue grips and they make a world of difference. For a clone it shoots very good and is pretty accurate for a cheaper gun. I would never sell it though, it is a great looking gun. Go for the CZ clone!

Went with the Canik Stingray-C. Now does anyone know what kind of magazines and grips work on these?

mine should be in this week, seen a video of a guy changing out cz compact grips and fits directly to the stingray w/no problems. will see if my shadow mags will fit the sting...im pretty sure it will. my shadow mags even fit and functioned on a friends baby desert eagle
