Real Scary Sweep...!!!

Whole lots of moron boyfriends and husbands on the You-Tube trying to act like a major mo-ron it seems!

Anyone with 1/4 the common sense god gave them to grow up too that age would worry less about the Video camera.

And more about common sense gun safety and proper training to bring new shooters into the fold.

It makes me just sick to watch the gun stupidity.
So I don't!!

May evolving Internet technology save all responsible gun owners and our gun rights from those YouTube Mo-Rons!

But I know it won't!!

Personally, when I am working with a new shooter, I only load one live round for the first few shots to make sure they can handle the noise, recoil, etc. without doing something like this. As a Range Officer I have made this same suggestion when other people are bringing a new shooter on the line.

When I took a few people shooting for the first time, I only loaded one round for all of them and they were all good. That's how I start off with new shooters after giving them a thorough safety briefing.

When I take new people shooting for the first time one of the things I do is to fire a round myself. The new shooter is to put their hand on my wrist or my shoulder so they can get a feel for the recoil. These are light rounds to start them with.

I'm not going to give someone a magnum round and think it's funny when they try to shoot it.

If they don't feel comfortable I find something else for them to try.

I never give them more than one bullet their first time shooting. When I took my wife shooting for the first time I actually started her off with a .22 pistol. Before I even handed her the gun I made it clear to never point that gun anywhere but at the target and she has always kept the gun downrange. After she became used to shooting a .22, I moved her up to a .380 and again I only put in 1 bullet the first few time she fired it. Teaching someone to shoot a gun is a processes and should be taken step by step.

I like the one round at a time idea for newbies. It's scary people don't have more common sense than to just hand a gun to someone without any review of proper gun safety. Would you do that with a teenager and a car??

Yeah always best when shooting with anyone new or someone that your not sure how much they know to assume they know absolutely nothing. Baby steps.

Truly "public" ranges, as in those owned by the government, are unimaginably strict.

My local range, owned by the county government, has never had any accidents. And there are always at least three range officers watching the fifty lane range, plus one operating the hot/safe commands every twenty minutes.

I feel safe there, despite the idiots.

I'd say the two deserve each other. It's a relationship made in Heaven from what I can surmise......

He because he's too stupid to hover behind her to watch for such stuff.

Her because she's too stupid to realize that it's a GUN she's holding.

The only catch is that any progeny they produce is doomed to similar stupidity since it's clearly entrenched in both gene sets....

1 round at a time. Absolutely. When I took my younger cousins shooting awhile back I learned that very quickly as the recoil from the first shot (9mm Glock) nearly had the gun pointed at her head.

If you hand your firearm to a new shooter YOU are responsible. Not just ethically, but legally. If the newbie whips it around and shoots someone, you can absolutely be sued for it with a high probability of having to pay damages for negligent entrustment, negligent supervision, reckless endangerment--the list goes on. Esp. if you were doing it as part of a "look how stupid women are" video for YT.

I have nothing but contempt for little men who must puff themselves up by trying to make others look foolish. When they're doing it with live firearms, they deserve to be banned from the range and go straight to the SPECIAL HELL. The videos where some snickering lout hands a new female shooter a .454 Casull and tricks her into shooting it are particularly egregious. And you can see from the comments that there are plenty of knuckle-dragging morons out there who think firearms are a source of male vitality and the wimmins need to be kept out. Ironically most of these fools are terrible shots who know almost nothing about shooting. But they still do real damage to the cause and need to be called out on it.

I have seen worse, and it is not really her fault so much as the big dummy who is "teaching" her. (Big dummy is being kind)

Cosmoline is 100% right.

I have seen worse,
I can't imagine....

Hey...maybe the gun was empty. But the image of that muzzle pointing right at my face while I watched the video made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end!

This is a trait I have been observing in women (mostly) for some time now. They fire off that first round and for some reason feel the need to turn to the boyfriend/friend/husband and make a comment. They just don't get it that when you're at the firing line it should be all business with all concentration on the task at hand. I've literally seen women turn around to comment after each & every shot!

I can't imagine....
I am not saying it isn't bad, just saying I have seen worse.

I had someone start shooting one time when I was coming back from setting targets. The other fellow got back first and just started shooting. I started yelling at him and he just gave me a stupid look like... I'm on the other end of the firing line, what's the problem? :banghead:

This girl didn't know any better. Not an excuse, just a reason. I have seen many so called "gun folks" do really stupid things with firearms. They should know better, but it still happens.

Oh, I'm sorry....I only meant I couldn't imagine a much worse "sweep."
Now I see you meant that you've seen worse unsafe things in general at the range.

It's been some years now, but I had a "real genius" start shooting while I was on my way back to the line. These people have obviously never had it happen to them.... Then again, they are so numb they probably wouldn't even notice.

Take Care & Good Shooting.

I personally hate videos like these. :banghead: The only thing they do is give the anti's more ammunition to attack the 2A.

"Look at how the Average American is not intelligent enough to safely operate a gun at a "Supervised" range!" "We must remove the guns from our country to keep stupid people from shooting themselves!" :barf:
Just imagine what would have happened if she had had a ND and hurt or killed someone! Handing a gun to anyone who has not been properly instructed in its use is just plain STUPID!

I think they both should be permanently banned from that range! Not just because the girl is dangerously clueless but also because they thought it would be a great idea to post their incompetence on YouTube!

My bet is that 99% of "antis" wouldn't know safe firearm handling from dangerous firearm handling unless it was specifically pointed out to them.

I've seen this posted a few times before. What proof do you have that this has happened before in the past? Saying that kind of stuff is fear mongering.
