FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY got my second 9mm Shield. Been looking for 2 months now..

FINALLY!

Selling my PX4 to cover the cost... Officially taking a hiatus from gun buying now. Been buying for years. Now, gonna start taking some vacations... Obviously, keeping my Beretta 92s, though, and my pair of PS90s :)

I have some sort of complex with having multiples of the same gun!

Only two is rediculous.

I know, I know. I'm turning 40 next week. After non stop buying since my 20s - and planning the next 2,3 or even 4 gun purchases out... I wanna take some vacations instead of only buying guns...

So yes... I am a terrible person... No Shield wheel to match my Beretta 92 wheel :D:D:D:D

Now git on over to Pearce Grips' website and tell 'em to get off their duffs and offer a pinky extension for 'em! :banghead:

They've got a link for e-mail at the top of the page, or just harangue 'em at [email protected].

I'm already seeing folks modifying Taurus 709? Pearce Grip Extenders to fit the SHIELD.

Actually owning two Shields in this day and time is almost unheard of. I know, I have two myself. They are very scarce and the waiting lists are getting longer each day. The Shield is the single stack folks have been asking for, for years, and Glock never saw fit to make. I bet the folks at S&W wonder why they didn't think of this earlier. Now if we could just find any extra mags.

Complete the Wheel-o-shields with 2 of the .40sw !

Haha. Sorry - never cared for the 40 cal. 9mm and 45 is all I like. And, I've gotten rid of everything but 9mm guns :D

Don't talk to Ship about the .40's; he's clear he don't like em :)
I agree we should get to see a "SHIELD WHEEL" of guns say in about a year?

No wonder i can't find a Shield! Shipwreck is buying them all up! Please stop hoarding the Shields! :D

I've been on a waiting list for 6 weeks. :cuss:

Nice pair of guns, Shipwreck.

Why the pair? Is this for a potential New York Reload?

(not that I'm against owning multiples of anything, just curious what drove your purchase decision.)

He should have bought ONE M&P9c instead it would have been cheaper.

I seem to have a penchant for getting multiples... It started with the Berettas. I bought different ones, and got a 2nd one to keep on the side (to not carry)... And, maybe hand over to my son one day...

The PS90s - Had one almost 6 years. Got an MSAR AUG later, but didn't like it. Sold it - and decided to just get a 2nd PS90, since I liked it so much... As for the Shields... Two mags are almost $80. Gun is cheap enough... Figured that I may as well just get a 2nd one, as I was gonna order 2 more mags anyway... This makes the gun pretty cheap when you consider it...

And, since I like having duplicates, it works for me :)

My other duplicates:

Sorry - I have owned several doublestack subcompacts over the years. The shield is much better for pocket carry. I don't want an M&Pc. In fact, I never even liked M&Ps because of the factory trigger - until I tried the Shield. The trigger is a little different

I have never seen a shield in person, much less held or shot one, so the is an honest want to know question. What seperates the shield from the reast of the small single stack 9s like the:

Ruger LC9,
Beretta NANO,
Kahr CM9,
Kel Tec PF9,
Sig P290,
Walther PPS
Taurus 709
ect

Well, I previously had a PM9 kahr....

I went to buy a P9 Kahr about 2 months ago... I thought that the SLIGHTLY larger P9 might shoot a tiny bit softer than the PM9...

I went to my local range.gun store to rent a P9 Kahr IF I liked it, I was going to go into the main part of the gunstore (from the range portion) to buy one... To me, the Kahr P9 was as unpleasant to shoot at the PM9. I mean, it's not like a super punishing gun... But, it did have more recoil than I preferred, and it wasn't a fun gun to put 150-200 rounds thru at 1 time... Despite a small size difference between the PM9 and P9, the guns shoot the same to me.

For the heck of it, I rented the Shield as an afterthought. I have shot M&Ps before, and I hated the trigger. I've had zero interest in owning one really... So, that tells you where I am coming from..... I am NOT biased towards the M&P, and probably decidedly the total opposite...

However, I found 25-30% less recoil (to me) on the Shield compared to the Kahr. All shots - right in the center at 7 yards. Also, the shorter trigger pull on the shield makes double taps easier.

For a guy who has never liked M&Ps, I LIKED it! The trigger on the Shield is different and much crisper than a standard M&P trigger...

Anyway - I sold my PM9 the same week I got my first Shield. And now, I have two...

Congrats. Still love shooting and carrying my Shield in 9mm.

Picking up my SA XDs tomorrow, so we'll see which I prefer in a few days.
