Yep, I totally agree. I love my .22 short 950 and actually shoot it quite often. A LR version would have been really nice. Your SA vs. DA/SA comment is why I prefer the 70S slightly over the 87 Cheetah. Beretta did the .22 right with much quality and class.

I don't know, I like my Model 21 just fine.

I have a Jetfire from the '70s in .25 ACP and it seems to me that they offered two calibers at the time .. a.25 and a .22.

I believe the 950 was offered in .22 short but never in .22LR.

I've always thought something like the Beretta jetfire or Baby Browning sized .22lr would sell like crazy. Something about the long thin rimmed .22lr makes feeding really hard in those pistols

I think the Bernardelli Baby was available in .22LR and was probably close to the same size as the Baby Browning. I would venture a guess that designing such a small pistol in .22LR would be rather problematic given the tight internal dimensions, variances in rimfire ammo, and the close tolerances needed to make it all work properly. The Beretta Jetfire design may not have been adaptable as such so Beretta came out with the slightly larger Model 21A Bobcat to accomodate the .22LR cartridge.

In comparison my Beretta Model 70S, built on a somewhat larger medium size pistol frame, has been totally reliable with any and all .22LR ammunition.

OP, I would say the same thing about any single action versus double action trigger....I just always liked single action triggers; why I prefer 1911's, Beretta 70's over 80's, and Jetfires over 21A's.
