I picked up the LCR last night,It was a gift from a vender.
I like revolvers and have had several snubs in the past but
have parted with them to family and friends over the years as
I prefer Semi's in 9mm and above for carry. My revolvers I have now are for hunting and range use.
My thoughts on this one after shooting it last night are that its the lightest I have ever held or shot.Recoil for such a light snub was not brutal but its still a light snub and recoils as such.Accuracy was exceptional,I had not shot a snuby in years and had no problems making hits.I did not bench it or shoot paper as it was getting late.I shot my hanging steel.I have a 6" plate at 12yd's 8"@17 6x1125 and a12x1660
After a couple of shots to see where it shoots I had no difficulty making hits on every shot out to 25yds and was able to put 11 of 15 on the 60yd steel slow fire. This was with my hand loads for my 586 Smith and they were on the warm side.
After 70 rounds I called it quits.I tried it in my front andrear jean pockets(Im not a big fan of pocket carry)and found it
to large to conceal in my rear and it filled my front enough
between the rubber grips and longer grip length to be hard to
draw from the pocket.Mabe a different pocket style would help this, but I am a jeans guy.Over all it was it was a prety nice little snub,The trigger while different than most was smooth and accuracy was good.
That said I've decieded to sell or trade it,because for me it would be a(IWB)gun and if I'm going to carry that way I prefer
a more substantial round and plaform.Sorry for the ramble,It's early.

I agree that it's a bit bulky for pocket carry, but with the right pockets, it sort of works.

I've toyed with the idea of selling mine after I purchased an LC9. But the LCR is just so easy to shoot quickly and accurately that I can't. I may buy a set of boot grips to see if that helps with pocket carry.

Its not that it wont fit or be covered ,It just looks like I've got a pocket full of some thing. And Im not someone who likes a lot of stuff in my pockets.
And if I tried to get it out in a hurry, well I just may be to slow on the draw
to save my arse.YMMV.

a concealed hammer revolver's shape lends itself to draw from the pocket easier than a similar sized semi-auto.

Don't get rid of it too soon, try working with the gun a bit more. I've found my LCR to be my favorite .38 to shoot and carry. I've also got an LC9 and wouldn't give a nickel for a dozen of them.

I carry my LCR IWB or in a DeSantis Nemisis pocket holster depending on what I'm wearing. The LCR carries perfectly in my front pocket if the pockets are deep enough, with this particular holster the issue isn't width of the gun but the length of the grip (which is pretty short).

Great gun though. very easy to shoot for being what it is

I have been carrying my LCR357 in my off hand pocket for 2 1/2 Years. It backs up My SP101. Works for me.

LCR is my favorite revolver. Light. Completely reliable. Great trigger. Okay sights. Comfortable grip. Sharp recoil, but with those rubber grips, when I stop shooting, it stops hurting. Mine fits fine in my front pants pocket, although, I mostly carry it in a belt holster. It is always there but hardly noticed. Give it a chance. :)

Everyone needs a good, accurate snubby in the carry battery. There are times when it works better for me than my subcompact 9 as a pocket carry. It doesn't print like a block in my pocket. .38 is PLENTY for self defense. I don't worry about caliber with a .38, personally, and know I can put 'em where it counts. Not much firepower, but we're talking self defense here, not assaulting Omaha beach.

I've wondered about the LCR's frame, looks a might more bulky than a J frame.

My LCR has been my Tactical Daddy Gun for 2 years now. When my daughter was born I quickly realized that going out and about with a newborn requires a ridiculous amount of packing. I wasn't going to be packing around a full size .45 or a heavy .357 AND a diaper bag AND a baby.

I wanted something lightweight that had punch but was compact. Pocket carry for me means the smallest of the small (I ended up purchasing an LCP a year later for work attire), so I didn't really care so much about it fitting in my jeans as I planned on wearing it OWB. After trying a few snubbies at the LGS, the owner convinced me that the LCR was right up my alley when he asked me to dry fire it.

I have always loved the snubnose in .38 special. For me, it just carried right. After my father in law passed, he willed me an S&W Model 36 which is priceless. I carry it very rarely. The LCR allowed me to retire the heirloom for special occasions yet stick with a platform I am comfortable with.

My daughter is no longer a baby-baby. As a toddler, our daily packing is pretty light. That said, at most every outing I find the LCR on my hip. The aluminum is nicked here and there from wear but it shoots soooo fine. It's one of my favorite carry pieces and one of my favorite guns to shoot at the range.

Since I wear cargo shorts most everywhere, pocket carry works very well for me using my Kahr PM9 and Ruger LCR .357. Both just disappear. Also the brand if jeans I wear has BIG pockets and both also fit in the pocket if not belt carrying.

Buffalo Bore's 158 grain soft lead SWCHP +P load will stop bad guys about as cold as you could ask of a handgun. If you really want to get rid of it, I'd be interested in it, for a reasonable price.
