Decided to get a few more AK mags (right now with 4 AK rifles, 2 mags per). Was looking for European steel (preferably), or metal lined polymer.

Not having bought them in several years, I was shocked at how much they cost these days, and how generally out of stock they are right now.

What say ye, wait it out a while when more stock arrives and the mania subsides? Or bite the bullet and plunk down anywhere up to $20 per mag.

Guess I'm getting older and my memory is getting longer but when I say $32 for a Bulgarian polymer mag, I just had to chuckle.

At these prices, maybe the wizards at Magpul might want to delve into the AK mag market.

Keep an eye out with these guy's, bought some Bulgarian steel mag's from them in the recent past and have never had issues with them.:)

Thanks, they're on my radar, but CDNN is current out and not expecting any more in (just have the Asian/Korean AK steel mags, which I'm not looking for).

Their "metal lined" Bulgarian polymer mags are apparently just the lips, not the lugs. I had a Bulgarian smoke mag that sheered the plastic lug the second time I went to the range.

Good thing I got mine when I did, I was wondering how long it would take before they (Steel Mags) all got snatched up!
Good luck.:)

What's wrong with the Korean, other than the ugly grey color, but then ugly and AK kind of goes together :)

Mine all work great and I only gave like $7 each for them.

Be happy you don't have a 5.45 AK; my surplus mags start at $40 and just go up from there. :p
