Oh Boy!!
This is gonna be a big thread!!

Look at some $50 buck Kershaws at Wallyworld.

Think I'll forestall Hso's inevitable question: What do you use a knife for? Do you primarily want a knife for your pocket, a larger folder of the pocket clip variety, or a belt knife, either folding or small fixed-blade?

Depends on state laws and how big or small you want to go. I have carried a kershaw leek and a crkt m-21 on me for the past two years. Both great knifes, although I'm thinking of replacing ythe m-21 with a rat 3.

Fixed or folding?

Belt or pocket?

Opening envelopes and cleaning nails or working around the ranch/farm/construction site?

One hand opening or nail nick or balisong?

Serrated or unserrated?

Fixed or folding? Folding

Belt or pocket? Pocket

Opening envelopes and cleaning nails or working around the ranch/farm/construction site? Defense/utility

One hand opening or nail nick or balisong? One hand

Serrated or unserrated? Either, but think I prefer a plain blade overall

What do you mean by "utility"? Farm/Ranch or Garage or just around the house?

What self defense training have you taken?

What self defense training have you taken? Military standard self defense training.Knife specific training? None. More of a last ditch effort weapon if needed.

Look on YouTube and do asearch on nutnfancy. He did a video on the best EDC knifes under 100$ and under $50

A Kershaw "Needs Work" fits your criteria. I use mine on the farm daily. It has a useful utility blade, and a great design. Quick one hand opening. Pocket clip.
I have posted about this knife several times. It seems that I am the only one that likes it, but I think it is a great knife.
$40.00.

ganzo 710 or 704
enlan el01, 02, 04
kershaw makes a decent low end knife.
the spyderco tenacious line is pretty nice too.

cheap and some are shameless copies, but they are very impressive for the price.

So you're looking for a folding bushcraft knife for under $100.

Kershaw Blur, Junkyard Dog, Rake
Benchmade Griptilian
Buck S30V Vantage, CSAR
Spyderco Manix2

Benchmade Griptillian! I use my knife at work daily and its a great knife! The lock up system is rock solid.
