No offense to anyone present, there are always exceptions. I have never had much use for people my age or younger.

There are absolutely exceptions. Levi is a well mannered young man.

Thank you Jeremy, I like knowing that I'm an exception to young folk and their shenanigans.

Now I like the sound of a shooting session with Mike and Jeremy, I'd absolutely be up for that! Get some old west gear on, load some BP shells for my good ol' scattergun, get some Remingtons and Colts and front stuffers, ring some steel and make some big clouds of smoke.

When and where? :D

Duelist, Sir, keep on with the videos! You have shown stuff I may never otherwise get to see. I enjoyed the ROA, and probably will never own one, but you showed how they shoot. Thank you sir.

Those that hide behind keyboards and get free warm fuzzy puting someone else down.......well what goes around eventually comes around. :uhoh:

Thank you Jim, I appreciate that! :)

One thing is for sure. When I was younger and I did or said something bad that warranted it, I'd get a bar of ivory soap (I still remember the taste) or a leather belt to my rear end. Or being grounded. I didn't pull any crap again.

If I dropped the F-bomb in class I got picked up and had a bar of ivory soap shoved in my mouth when I got home. If I cut class I'd get a belt to the rear end. If I got caught smoking weed I'd get grounded for a month and I had to urinate into a cup in front of my own parents. I had good parents and I see that, even though at that age I really hated it.

I KNOW that my parents love me because they disciplined me when necessary. I would bet you that 99% of these punk kids these days were subject to this hands off parenting, same goes for a majority of those incarcerated in the prison system. Same goes for the chimpanzees that are leaving bitter and rude comments on Mike's videos.

Not to make this into a public service announcement, and I know that I am certainly not a father and only 18. I know that many people here have so much more life experience than me and I'm not trying to be a know-it-all. If you love your kids, discipline them when they do bad things. PLEASE for the sake of our country's future, discipline your children, love them, and support them.

Okay, PSA over. :)

Levi

Don't thank me Levi.
Thank them folks o' yours.
Yer a wise young man ;)
Yer pretty smart and do cool stuff with guns too :D
You got that natural 'nack' fer bein an accomplished smith some day.

I can't resist sharing this one. I got it last night and it cracked me up.

Someone named Realman0121 wrote this comment on one of my single action videos, "THERE IS NO SAFTEY ON DESE GUNS HARDLEY IF IT FALLS IT WILL BUST BUT PERFECT U WHITE FARTS"

You gotta love these guys. I couldn't make this stuff up. I wish I could send this to his English teacher.:D

"THERE IS NO SAFTEY ON DESE GUNS HARDLEY IF IT FALLS IT WILL BUST BUT PERFECT U WHITE FARTS"
My wife was a teacher outside Memphis for 12yrs. This kind of thing does not surprise me at all. It was not uncommon at all to have kids in high school that could not read. Parents don't care, students don't care. All they do care about, besides classroom disruption, is learning how to manipulate the system to get their government check.

You're too classy to be on Reddit.

A lot of kids post using poor grammar and spelling so they can maintain an illusion of being "street" as if someone sitting behind a computer monitor 20 hours a day even sees a street. Cyberbullies need to meet some real bullies to straighten them out.

"THERE IS NO SAFTEY ON DESE GUNS HARDLEY IF IT FALLS IT WILL BUST BUT PERFECT U WHITE FARTS"

That is too funny! I keep reading that over and over again and in my mind I keep hearing Forrest Gump's voice.

My best guess is:

"Good sir, these firearms have no internal safety incorporated into their design, you could probably set the hammer onto an empty chamber but I wouldn't trust it. If this handgun falls and lands on the hammer you could have yourself an accidental discharge, which isn't all that bad because I don't like the white people who own firearms."

Duelist, I haven't been on youtube lately but I watched quite a few you linked to from TFL, and as I'm sure I told you there, your videos are always informative and well-done. Please continue to put them out and consider negative somments a source of comic relief, and I promise I'll catch up some day :) Also, I've said it many times, the greatest shame our society would face would be if archaeologists in the future only knew us by our youtube comments

Levi: I'm very glad to see someone my age who likes guns as much as I do and shows maturity on a reputable forum. Just yesterday I was lamenting the lack of peers my age on the Gunbroker and Blackpowder Times forums, but I've made my way back to THR and hopefully there's more out there like us. Got my share of Dad's belt too, he must've done something right!

Hey, I was Levis age only four decades ago!

To be fair it seemed all the gun cranks were old farts at the time to me then and automatically thought youth were not worth the effort to communicate with though there was no internet......shoot we had dial telephones on the wall and dinosaurs in the streets!

Good folks is good folks and age does not have as much to do with it as some think.

-kBob

When I was a kid, we had a crank telephone on the wall. Everybody on the party line had their own ring like long short long or short short long. There was always some old nosy women that would listen in to your conversations or tie up the line for hours so nobody else could use the phone. But that was modern technology back then. It was a different time.

Levi, I thought I was hard on our boy's. I was and it shows.

Ken, ya done good! :)

In my opinion the kids of today need discipline, God, The Boy Scouts of America (or girl scouts, I don't want to be sexist here) and guns more than ever. In fact every young person that I have come across and personally spoken to at the trap club was an outstanding individual. Lots of Boy Scouts, lots of Christ centered individuals, very safe too.

Young people who I would honestly trust with a firearm in their possession. And that is saying a lot coming from me actually, I'm not the kind of person to trust someone right off the bat until they have proven themselves responsible shootists.

One thing about being young that I absolutely hate is that cops are suspicious of you. Yesterday I got searched, patted down, and had my backpack searched by a police officer. I was completely polite, honest said very little, complied as necessary, but still got Officer Johnson's cold feely hand in my junk.

Why all this? I was wearing an NRA T-shirt. He wanted to find out if I had a gun on me. Criminals don't belong to the NRA.

Most likely the latter. My brother in law is a high functioning autistic and he's never acted like that. What that child needs is a good ass-beating. The behavior we see on YouTube is the product of this liberal, hands-off parenting that's plagued our country over the last few decades. Children are like terrorists, they're not to be negotiated with. (tongue in cheek.....sort of) ;)
Could be as you say sir.
Could be he was not your brother in law when he was in single digit age....
Or perhaps you grew up as neighbors, thus meeting your future wife. I cant speak to that.
Most high functioning types age out, they learn to mimic proper behaivor as they grow.
Aspergers, high and lower functioning, though generally Aspergertends to be high functioning only, has a specific category unlike all other forms of Autism which are simply grouped as Autism Spectrum Disorders due to the unique behaivors displayed.
Violent vocal outburst and physical violence, common with diagnosis.
Not a hard fast rule however.
Sorry for derailing, I'm done as this is not specific to THR topics.
NO disrespect intended whatsoever ever.

Back to the powder gents, my apologies.

Thanks for the videos! As you can see, the grown-ups appreciate them. The rest provide comic relief.

Just watched your Youtube video on the Ruger Buntline with Lee conicals. Great presentation, good job.

I have not watched one of your videos that was not outstanding, fun, intriguing, and full of information & history. And I've watched a lot of them.
You keep on doing what you are doing, Good Sir, and ignore the neanderthal half-wits who wish they had half your job, half your guns, and half your brains.

When you put yourself in "the public eye", you will have people who like you, hate you or use you to vent for reasons that only the best shrinks can explain. No forum, even this one, is immune from idiotic comments (I was once called "Poo-hill" on this forum because someone did not like something I said). Your videos are good and they're harmless, but they (and you), are targets simply because they exist. Am I saying it's part of the territory? Yep. Now, I am not a fan of any kind of Obama, Hillary, etc but take a look at some of the emails, comments and even threats that are flying around concerning them. I don't open emails that contain any of them as a subject line. We can defeat them without the emails and comments, and we all know the kind I'm talking about. Remember that the next time you are about to forward one of those emails.
Of course, anything goes with people like Bill Maher...
Keep up the good work with the videos.
