Reloading the 325 WSM

I have one and I reload for it . I really like . I will check my loads and get back but I think I was shooting about a inch at at 100 I do not need to go over 200 gr . that is the 8mm.

No experience with the .325, but I do shoot and load for it's bigger brother, the 8mm Rem Mag. The bullet weight range in .323 is 150-250 grs., but pretty much any hunting in North America is well covered with the 180-220 gr. bullets.

I load:

-180 gr. Ballistic tips to 3,315 FPS
-200 gr. Accubonds to 3,160 FPS
-220 gr. Sierra Gamekings to 2,965 FPS

These are near-max loads, chronographed 15' from the muzzle of my 1979-mfr. 700 BDL (24")

Anything lighter is really meant for 8mm Mauser and other, more sedate 8mm cartridges. While the .325 WSM won't hit 8mm Mag velocities, it is still going to push the lighter bullets too fast.

The heavies, like the 250 gr. Woodleigh Weldcore, are just that-hevily constructed. They'd be a good bullet for moose and the other really big stuff, but for animals weighing in under 1/2 ton, they're too tough. And they may also be too long for use in your .325 on account of the short action.

I use 175 gr pro hunter with 59 gr varget this gives 2900 fps 61 would be max no problems 11/2 grroups at 200 yds.WLR primer If I go up to 60 gr I would use a Mag primer because I use it in cooled weather.Fired brass.
