How heavy does a handgun have to be before you start feeling fatigue?

Figured I'd ask ye experienced shooters out of curiosity, and because of the fact I'm getting a handgun thats 42.2 ounces (2.64 lbs) with the magazine (unloaded I think) and was wondering if that much weight would make me tired. I understand each person is different so I'd like to get input from as many people as possible. Thanks!

With a good belt, pretty much never during a normal day (even with a steel Gov. 1911). Of course, I'm not on my feet 24/7 or anything like that.

Are you talking about to shoot for a long period of time on a range with, or to carry? I have a CZ SP-01 Shadow which weighs in at about 2.6lb according to the website. I was carrying it for about 6 hours on the range today unloaded. I didn't get tired, but I could feel its weight there which was reassuring as I would instantly notice if it was gone.

I think as 2wheels said, a good belt will help. A nice stiff belt means it won't be tugging away.

Some people whine about an ounce here and there, like they can actually detect it.

Don't worry about it.

Yep, I mean just shooting, not carrying. I assume since you take breaks and reload and stuff that it shouldnt be a problem at all.

Try holding up a Ruger Super Redhawk with 7.5" barrel. If you can't, you need to work out more and complain less.
