Does anyone no anything about these rifles I know there a s&w company but say this rifle compared to a savage model 12 say or a winchester just lookin for some input thanks

I looked at the T/C rifles a little over a year ago at the height of a very large recoil they issued to repair a faulty sear that caused Venture rifles to fire without trigger pull. I've never heard of any actually malfunctioning pre-recall so I assume it was CYA by the company. Here is a link to recall info and how to see if a rifle has been fixed.

Recall aside they are rather solid rifles from several people I know who hunt with them. Not quite as good as a quality savage but a good rival to a Rem 700 or so. Many Ventures have rubber ergonomic grips and thick recoil pads.

Bummer turn off I can't stand malfunctions like that even if they say its been fixed the remy 700 is another one I think the rifles are amazing beautiful peices of work but with everything I've heard and seen ill never buy and its not just rems 700 there 870 have lost there qaulity as well but aside from T/C and remy I am a big savage fan savage model 12 was my first rifle but been looking for another one I want a 308 but I'm trying to find something not outragesly priced but is of good qaulity and a nice smooth bolt I been considering building one but individule actions are so damn spendy so I just been browsing I do like savages model 10 but there too there spendy
And that's why I was kinda liking the looks of this rifle the recall seems to be pretty respectable go S&W! But if anyone has anymore input would be greatly appreciated

I just pulled the trigger on a TC venture in 243 (predator is a camo model) after a lot of personal debate on what to get. I handled the Weatherby Vanguard S2, the Ruger American, Browning A bolt, TIkka t3, but the TC was just a better all around feel to it even the stock did not feel like a cheesy plastic stock. I also own a Savage 110 and a remington 700 the TC definatly has a smoother bolt and an accuracey gauruntee of MOA or better and right now has a $50 rebate until nov 31 I believe. Now the hard second part of that same question -- what goes on top. Go handle the Venture cycle the bolt tell me you dont want it.

Oh and dont go for the Savage is the most accurate gun in the world I have a 110 30-06 accu trigger that shoots well but not as good as My remington 700 .308 and if the MOA is true on TC'S part this will also outshoot my Savage. I love my Savage but find they shoot better on the internet then anywhere else but I will never get rid of it either :)

+1. There have 3 lugs and bolt lift travels much shorter than the rem or savage. I like it also. They shoot great and handle well. If you're looking for pretty, it's not the rifle for you, but if you're looking for a good handling hunting rifle that shoots strait, can't beat it for the money.

^ :)

Owned half a dozen Savages, ALL of them would outshoot any of my Remingtons, the trick is all Savages are very sensitive to what you feed them (something to do with the way the rifling is made), mine hate Federal blue box and power points for example but most like Ballistic Tips and core-lokts pretty good. The worst any of mine shot with factory fodder that they liked was 3/4" and my handloads were well below that. So the legendary accuracy of Savage rifles is very true, just take it with that grain of salt. Some of my other rifles are not nearly as sensitive to bullet type, my tikka groups well with anything you can cram down it's bore.
BTW my Savage 30-06 groups superbly with 150gr Accutips over RL19 if you want to give that a try :)

Awesome well ill have to find one and check it out it sounds pretty convincing! But on the other hand I gotta stand up for the savages lol I love my savage was my first bolt action its in .243 win and it shoots true as could be now its just the shooter lol long as you got good optics rings and mounts there amazing and the model 12 won a I think it was a 1000 yard competition there amazing I love my .243 but want a .308 which why this rifle intrested me I thank you all for the input! :)

Wow Im not saying anything bad about Savage, however I am saying every Savage on the internet seems to shoot sub moa every single one thats honeslty why I got one, and mine does not shoot sub moa with normal ammo. I love my Savage it was my first gun you know that bond. Funny you should mention reloader 19 I just picked some up from cabelas but went with 150 grain Noslers and 150 grain Hornady sp's and hope that brings me sub moa that would please me very much a hunting round that shoots that well. Remember I made a point in saying that the old M1 garand ammo shoots ridiculous out of my Savage and its 100% true but honestly it's not practical to use its filthy and not hunting ammo but is like a Unicorn you have to see it to believe it.

My Savage is also equiped well enough
Savage 110 GXP3 30-06
accu-trigger
Limbsaver recoil pad
Limbsaver Recoil barrel vibration dampner
weaver bases
Leupold rifleman rings (laped)
Nikon Pro staff 4-12x40 BDC new model
Boyd's featherweight thumbole stock Royal Jacaranda or somthing like that for the finish

Dont think I'm a hater or a fanboy

I don't know man my savage shoots true as could be I've got a model 12 with original stock accu trigger its a varmint series so its got the bull barrel but I've pulled off sub moa at 100 yards with a leupold vx I 3 9x40 with talley mounts and ring combo shoots like a dream! Lol I had originally tryed the leupold dove tail mounts but they were junk I hated them stripped a screw out in my reciever cause it called for torqueing didn't go so great but these talley seem to be working great! Ain't had one issue with them and they were half the price lol
