I finally made it. I've been saving away those nickles and dimes, been crimping where I can and finally got done with my CCW/Range/Plinking gun.

The frame is a RIA M1911-A1 CS made of carbon steel, the slide is an American Tactical 4.25 inches long. Both were able to be fitted together without any issues, grinding, filing or whatnot.

The grips are thin Alumagrips.

The finish is a layer of Ceracoat, a couple of layers of Duracoat to fill in the slide markings and finally a layer of Ceracoat to even things out.

There are no big names involved here. This was all done courtesy of my local gunsmith, a guy in a garage who refinishes guns for a hobby and myself. Although I would consider myself a bit of a big name. >.O

A lot of big pics to follow:

This is how it all started.

This is where it ended up at.

Looks nice. I like the finger groove grips but for CCW it's probably good you changed them out or the rubber grips would constantly catch on your shirt. I like the finish too.

Very nice. The CCO sized pistols have become my favorite for carry and I've also become a fan of thin grips. Makes the pistol feel much better in my hands.

Very nice! Just got my own CCO, a TALO Colt... Don't know why it took me so long to discover CCO sized 1911s, they're awesome.
