RUGER Customer Service

I have to say the customer service people are great. For me it's the repair people that leave a lot to be desired. I had feed problems with an LCP and cylinder lock-up problems with a .357 LCR. After two trips back for each gun I gave up and traded them to a shop with an in-house gunsmith.

The LCP was much better after Ruger sent it back, but it still failed to feed 20% of the time. On the LCR it was like they didn't even touch it. The funny thing is that I have never had a problem with a steel Ruger. I guess I'll stick with them.

My experience with Ruger was down right bad. I guess I got the wrong person that day but it turned me off from ever buying a product from them again.

Sorry you had a bad experience; mine was excellent.

But, I'm glad you're never going to buy Ruger again - leaves more for the rest of us.

I sent a Ruger Red Label back a few years ago. I was the 3rd owner. They repaired it and had to weld the barrel, which they did. The weld and metal work required that they reblue it. They returned what looked like a brand new gun and, of course, no charge. It took a little longer than they originally predicted, but I'm not complaining. I have since bought sevarl new Rugers and would do so again.
Recently had to return a Savage; I'll let you know how they do. At this point they plan to replace the Model 25 LWV 22 Hornet I bought that would not load from the magazine...jammed every time.

Sweet. Only other gun manufacturer I own with the same amount of specimens is Colt. Thing is, I've never had to use customer support with either make. I would expect that from Ruger.

I mailed the tech who fixed my gun a box of chocolate and a monetary tip. 10 days later, I was mailed a Ruger cap, Ruger window sticker, Ruger patch, and a very, very appreciative letter, which informed me that their employees cannot take monetary gratuities, but they sure enjoyed the chocolate. The money was returned to me.

I have had good service from them the few times I have needed service. I had the grip portion of the bolt on a MKII pistol break off and they replaced it. I had them replace the entire top end on another MKII pistol I bought used.
