Been using PP for my 40, so I thought I would give it a try in .357 Magnum.
I really like it. Within 100FPS of full power H-110 loads with a fraction the blast / recoil , and less than half the powder. Especially like the way it works in the short barrel

8.0 Grains Power pistol

S&W 686 2 1/2" AVG 1103

Interesting. I ran a batch using 125g Bear Creek TC's with 9, 9.5 and 10g of Power Pistol this week. I do like that powder.

125g Bear Creek TC
Power Pistol
Ruger Service Six 4" barrel
9.0g AVG 1285
9.5g AVG 1395
10.0g AVG 1459

I had about 100 of these so I wanted to see what the "FBI load" felt like. Pretty stout recoil, but no stronger than a full house 1911 or 180g 40 S&W through my Tupperware M&P40. Fortunately, these Rugers are built like a tank and weigh about the same.

I'll probably stick with 158g Lee RNFP's that drop out of my Lee 6 banger mold. The metplat is almost as big as a wadcutter and they punch holes almost as clean as a SWC.

I have loaded lots of it in 357, but still prefer 2400 for full power loads. However, I have a load using Hornady 158gr LSWC-HP with power pistol that is accurate and expands like mad in wet pack.

I use Power Pistol with the 140gr FTX Hornady loads. I use H110 with 158gr boomers and W231 with 148gr WC's. Works great.

The only .357 Magnum ammo I made with Power Pistol was some Speer 135gr Short Barrel .357 Magnum replica rounds. I was able to replicate the load almost exactly except for the flash Power Pistol generates that the factory ammo doesn't.

I would use a lot more Power Pistol if the flash wasn't so intense. At least I have HS-6 and Longshot but even there, Longshot is awfully loud.

I have loaded thousands of 125 gr JHPs using 10.0 gr of Power Pistol...It is my favorite load since Alliant issued the 125 gr/Blue Dot warning.

I'm very reluctant to use any powder that is suseptable to accidental double charges. I'm sure PP is a great powder, but not for me. I like my powdes about as slow burning as can be, even though that is often the higher performance option.
As for .357 mag., I load with 2400 or H110.
