Rem 887 tactical vs Benelli Nova

In my opinion the only reason to pick one of these shotguns is if you are planning to get the gun wet and are worried about rust. Like duck hunting. Between these two the Benelli Nova or Supernova are nicer. Frankly a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 is a better choice. Losts of accessories and extra barrels. Buying a second barrel for a Benelli costs as much as a new Mossberg shotgun.

I'm interested in trying one of these on my Nova tactical in order to make it just a little more versatile.

I'm not going to comment on the H20, but on the SuperNova itself: a R870 or M590 would have been a lot easier to add on to. The SN is very nice, but I found myself wishing a couple of times that I'd just bought something more common and more customizable.

Does not look like it has changed to me. $260 for a Nova barrel when a new Mossberg shotgun is under $300.

Between those I'd pick the Nova. I really liked the one I owned and the others I've used. But I'm just too used to the 870. I like it better and extra barrels are easy to find and reasonabbly priced. One reason I sold the Nova was because of the price of extra barrels. Even when I found them listed, I never once found anyone who actually had one in stock.

Nova barrels used to be around $400.

I just like my nova and like the idea of being able to add a barrel that is threaded for choke tubes.

I'm personally not a fan of Mossberg pumps.

I own a 887 nitro mag tactical and am very happy with it. I only use it for target shooting and home defense but it is a nice reliable shotgun. The key selling points on it were the armorlok coating that prevents rusting, the fact that it will shoot 2 1/2, 3, & 3 1/2" shells and the reduced recoil.

My friend went and bought one for duck hunting after he shot mine at the range.

I'd definitely choose the Benelli. I won a Remington 887 at a shoot, was underwhelmed with the gun's quality and functioning and sold it as soon as I could.

I have the Nova Tac with ghost ring sights, it is deadly with a foster slug out to 100 yds or so. Recoil is vicious though so if you get one get the recoil reducer to go with it. P.S. I fired 1- 3.5" shell of BB shot out of the gun something I will not do again. BRUTAL
