If the intent was to take guns away from citizens, the President just suceeded in becoming the gun salesman of the century. He must have put a million guns on the streets in the last week. Guys are buying pallats of ammo, hundreds of mags and anything that will fire a potato.
If this was supposed to take guns off the streets, it sure backfired. Now go ask those nice folks not to use their new guns, or tell them they have to give them back, lol.
This had to be the most assinine thing he could have done, aside from healthcare. Is he this dumb or is it my imagination. This is like telling a kid you cant have any sweets after midnight. The kid is going to eat and hoard everything he can get his hands on until midnight, make any sense.
Wait till he says no video games, the games are next to go nuts.Hold on to your black ops it may be worth a thousand bucks next week.

With the numbers of AR-15's among other guns sold in the last week, I think any kind of legislation if passed would have to undergo SCOTUS scrutiny and with the Heller case, I would feel hopeful.

Easy now Kitchen Duty, I have thought about this too, it's worth mentioning. The mere presence of this man and his party, sells more guns than anyone could imagine. What does that tell ya? The dem party is no friend of the 2nd amendment, oh how they will lie to get your vote, but there is a track record.

Exactlly, it's not the proposed legislation that's funny, it's the outcome of the proposed legislation, that is putting more guns than ever out there. When I see people paying 400 dollars for 4 mags, "that's just crazy". None of this is funny other than the fact that they just put more of the weapons into circulation, that they plan to limit.
It's kind of like buying cars when you are told that soon you won't be able to drive, or use them.

I wonder if anyone in the administration has realized that if they just back off, gun buying would go down.

i doubt they care... theyll try to force registration so they can keep tabs on everyone who owns guns and what they own.. thats why they want to force background checks in private sells and from gun shows so that theyll have an electronic record of who owns what without needing an official registration.... this is the first step to an all-out confiscation

i dont find this funny at all... however, i doubt itll go very far, the courts have been awaring the second amendment many victories lately, lifting the DC gun ban, chicago gun ban, chicagos ban on concealed carry permits, as well as clarifying to everyone that the second amendment does in fact apply to all us citizens... so if theres anything too extreme, theyll shoot it down

You guys are forgetting that the whole point to Tyranny is not to get people to do what you want, but instead, it's to show them by force that you will make them do what you want.

If you work with the people, they get this silly idea that they have a say in matters.
If you crush them and make them do what you want, you own them. You break their will and they're reduced to nothing more than mutterings in the wind.

So no, it's not funny. It may appear ironic but it's not that either.

So how do they get around the facts, that every time more people were allowed to carry, the crime rate went down, as is obvious here.
http://www.nraila.org/gun-laws/articles/2012/right-to-carry-2012.aspx,
wouldn't putting this information on every email and website wake people up to the truth about our right to carry being a no brainer?
Just by attaching this link to everyones email, this could get around very fast.

Wanna make a lib mad , tell him the truth. Wanna make a con mad tell him a lie. So it is .They do not care for truth or facts. What are you gonna do?

I would love to know what the total tax revenue the government has made off all the guns, mags and ammo purchases over the past seven days.

Ooh, that's a good point. I also wonder how much the government has made off of just AR-15 sales this last week. It would be a great counter-arguement to gun control.

Something I was shown elsewhere on the 'net:

Christian, Conservative, Patriot and Not Afraid
Saul Alinsky's Rule Number 5, from Rules for Radicals :

“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

Remember...stay out of the defensive mode and play offense. Our response is to proudly (and without apology) stand up for the Constitution and freedom. When someone attacks you on gun rights or any other right for that matter, the response is, "Why don't YOU support the Constitution and the rights given to Americans under the law of our land." Offense....

Now, remember radical Rule 8 is to “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Your response? Do not grow weary in doing good...win the race of endurance that has been set before you.

~Patria

This makes sense to me as to why the facts mean nothing to them. They go around them by ridiculing and drawing you off topic. Give people a drama to watch and listen to, and many times, regardless what the topic is, they'll remember the drama.
