Well, the "Old Lady" really impressed me this Christmas. She headed on down to the local gun store this year and found me a checkered walnut stock for my Ruger 10 22. I'm not sure how she knew what I was after, but I suspect the gun store owner may have helped her out.
It looks exactly how I hoped it would. Now I'm itchin' to head out and find a couple of rabbits. It's supposed to be clear and about -33 degrees Celsius tomorrow. Might have to dig out the goose down parka and hit some bush! DSCN4393_zps8da965d3.jpg

I assume your post was asking for opinions on your wife's behavior and not the rifle. Although your 10/22 looks really good with that new stock, a more appreciative wife would have bought a completely new rifle with at least 500 rounds of ammo. Don't let the wood stock taint your perspective..... she needs more sensitivity training and higher awareness of how to keep the king of the household happy. Of course this reply is having a little fun with the topic you posted and I wish you well over the holidays.

Thanks fellas. I believe the mag release is a Tactical Solutions. It looks great, but it is a little long, and provides a bit too much mechanical advantage for the factory spring weight. It doesn't allow for enough resistance when dropping the mag. In fact, a couple of times I have snagged it with a stray finger and dropped the mag. Although, the position is perfect for the lever action feel.
Maybe next year a .458 Lott with a couple safari tickets, eh Robert?
