How much to list this Olympic Arms AR15?

Friend of mine is having financial difficulties and asked me how she should list her Olympic Arms AR-15. This is the only pic I have of it yet. The angle makes the gun appear a little distorted, but it's normally proportioned.

Since she's in a bind, she knows this is a good time to make top dollar so she can meet her financial needs.

How much would you ask for it and how/where would you list it?

In this panic I would list it at 15oo obo.

Its not a highly sought after brand or model, but you never know.

Its an a1 I believe.
 
In todays maket, I would tell her to list it at $1,500 and take $1,200 for it.

I'd ask for 1500, but I'd take 1k.

I'd also think about putting it on a local swap sheet.
 
Put it on Gunbroker and let the market set the value.

My best guess on todays market is around $1,200 Selling it by auction is better in my opinion because it will have moe of a tendancy to float to the max level that someone will give.
 
Market for Oly AR's is not very string. the plinker plus on GB as been trending arounf 950-1000 in auction format. The BIN for 1300+ seem to be sitting.

I took an Oly Plinker Plus to the gun show, lots of interest, $1500 was not an issue until I said it was an Olympic Arms..the general response was "oh, thank you for letting me look at it."

Seems the perception of Oly is not that great.

With that said, I was able to sell it for $1250 after several hours. Hard to compete when the S&W and Colt base ARs were there in plenty for 1499.....

I would say you could realistically get 1100-1200 at a GS if you go withing the next week or so. After that it all depends on what happens. When I see ARs not selling at the gun shows for the $1500 being asked, it makes me wonder if the general public (Not gunbroker public) is price sensative. If they are, they may open up the wallets when nothing is available. If, availability opens up, prices will tumble.

When is it ever not?

Photo looks like a "ban beater" model, no bayonet lug, no threaded barrel, carbine length barrel but fixed stock.

I suspect she could sell it quickly if listed at $1000, probably get $1200 for it with a little patience. Auction with say $1100 reserve price might be a good way to go.

How quickly she needs the cash will affect how much she could perhaps eventually get.
