Here's what he proposed in his State of the State address a few minutes ago:

  1. Enact toughest assault weapon ban in nation
  2. Close private sale loophole
  3. Ban high capacity magazines
  4. Enact tougher gun crime penalties
  5. Keep guns from mentally ill
  6. Ban direct internet sales of ammo
  7. Create state NICS check on all ammo purchase.

This is a preview of what's coming at the Federal level...

Well, technically it was extremists that fought in 1776 and then went on to write the Bill of Rights...

Hell, that's easy. He'll say "all Democrats and Libs move to this side of the line. Ok, good. Now everyone that's left on that side of the line, we have these nice, warm, white jackets with extra long sleeves to keep your hands warm."

His exact quote "Nobody needs 10 rounds to kill a deer". Too bad the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting. "No internet sales of AMMO" So when I find a box of .256 win Mag, or 25 Remington or one of my other oddball calibers I need Online I guess I'm out of luck. Senate Majority leader (R) Dean Skelos didn't make me feel good either with his message after the speech.

Well, if I needed another reason not to move to NY, Cuomo has given me several. But aren't hicap mags already illegal in NY. Here's a story about a vet just getting arrested for having 5 AR-15 mags.

Pre-ban mags are not illegal. Even though I plan on being out of NY in the next 3-6 months, this whole thing makes my blood boil.

As I understand it, the gentleman was suggesting that search and confiscation would be on the table to help solve this "problem". My comment on the subject. Good luck to you sir. You'll need it. I think he shot himself in the foot with that one. I called a few folks that I know who were either on the fence, or in support of a ban of future sale and asked them what they thought about that. It changed their minds, they are no longer with the dark side of the force...

Now if Freedom Group decides to leave Ilion and take the jobs and tax revenue with them we’ll see what the tune is. As it is the former Remington plant is a white elephant, and other more friendly states would be more then willing to help build them a new one.

Pre 1994 Magazines are Legal in NYS right now. I think Cuomo wants to ban all the Mags that are Grandfathered in. As it stands now any magazine in NY over 10 Rds that can be PROVEN to be made after 1994 is illegal.

Ain't that the truth! I would donate money, work on the construction crew, then be their IT department if they moved to my town.

On the little I was able to watch of the speech, it was reminiscent of news clips from the 1930-40's from a guy in Germany named Adolf.

I've been a preaching for all firearms related companies to move out of firearm restrictive states for years. We need more american companies down south. Not just auto manufactureres from overseas.

Old Fuff, in his speach he pandered to Remington. To paraphrase he said "I am a gun owner and hunter, I have a Remington Shotgun". These guys just cannot help themselves. Half of the speach was ecomonic development. Upstate New York is very economically challenged. Jobless rates are much worse than the rest of the country. Forked tongue!

The biggest problem with this govenor and the majority of N.Y. State lawmakers is they do not really believe or understand that there is more to N.Y. Than NYC is this is where the real pandering goes on. Unfortunately the upstaters have to pay the price!

Amen to that... I had the pleasure of shooting at the Blue Mountain/Indian Lake Range up in the Adirondacks back in Summer, 2011 and it was a great place. What a lovely, pro-gun community there!

Why doesnt he replace the statue of liberty with a statue of Stalin, & he can also put up a big wrought iron gate at the entrance to ellis island that says "Arbeit Macht Frei" :barf:

He'd first have to either get permission or be told by Bloomberg to do it, nanny B is the true ruler of N.Y. And it's thug political system.

Indeed! He is so brain-dead that he doesn't see that he cannot kick Freedom Group in the butt, and expect they'll stay and keep taking it.

One time in Maryland the legislature passed a bill that would require an internal lock in all new handguns. Beretta had a factory there with a lot of employees and none of their pistols had an internal lock. Somehow  the word got out that the company was looking into a new location. The internal lock business quickly got lost.

In a week or so all of the principals from the U.S. firearms industry will gather under one roof in Las Vegas, NV. I doubt they will play paddycake.
