Anti-gun News anchor gets his butt handed to him...REPEATEDLY

Excellent advocate for gun-rights, and a tell it like it is demeanor. Calm, cool, collected, and absolutely truthful in his arguments.

We need this guy, nationally.

While I am glad Ted Nugent is on our side he is a bit crass; this gentleman is outstanding. NRA, are you listening? HIRE HIM NOW

Great example of a “talking points” anchor who was not expecting to be challenged and was unprepared/unable to defend his claims. The universal anti credos declared by the anchor are;

1) You don’t need an “assault” rifle.
2) I don’t want my neighbor having an ”assault” rifle ( or any gun for that matter).
3) People who have “assault” rifles are Rambos.
4) The police are there to serve and protect.
5) Only the police and military need guns.

Add to amusement the anchor’s statement that the discussion was to be a reasonable debate, and the topic of grenade launchers and nuclear bombs enter the dispute.

Good Find! I believe this anchor would have beaten Lance Armstrong in the Tour de France back pedaling.

I find it funny how people still believe that police have a duty to the individual when they don't. They may serve and protect but their duty is to uphold the law.

Even the best trained, most highly motivated cop in the world isn't on the scene of the crime when it happens to you. YOU are ... it is your only hope to handle it yourself. This is pure Darwin, folks.

Wow...that newscaster has a remarkable ability to ignore reality and keep his dogmatic argument going.

The pro second amendment guest was knowledgable, articulate, and very good at not letting the news guy retreat from a losing argument and grasp at another straw.

Very good post...thanks for sharing it.

As great as this clip is, and it is, the question keeps coming up about "why do you need more rounds in a magazine?" An example that I never hear being brought up is the home invasion in Florida where the couple who adopted something like a dozen special needs kids were attacked by 8 bad guys.
In that situation, the homeowners had left a door open and had no defense recourse, but if they had a chance to shoot back, there were 8 of them.
So, with 8 thugs, and a 40% hit rate that police have achieved historically, and using a conservative rate of 4 rounds to disable an attacker, that's 80 rounds needed. I think the argument is that everyone should have at least 3 30-round magazines available. At least. That's the answer why we should have them.

I only recently joined the forum and have in past years been very quiet about my gun rights. This debate has made me realize what a mistake that is. I've been trying to engage friends and strangers alike on the subject.

This is the guy I think we should all strive to be. Polite, firm, and well-spoken will do a better job of getting the facts across. I've also noticed these ignoramuses (ignorami...?) have a tendency to use phrases like "I don't believe..." and "I don't think...". They fail to realize the issue isn't about what they "believe" or "think". Believing something doesn't make it true...ask an atheist. That's not intended as snarky to any atheists who happen to be reading, so I hope you understand the point.

I like that...

1, the interviewer actually didn't seem like he had much of an agenda... more of a blissful ignorance. Props to him for keeping it civil, despite being completely wrong.

2, Keith Morgan handled the lies with facts, and focused on the ignorance.

This was utterly one-sided

The host Bray Cary (Bray - really?) was sacked worse than Baghdad by the Mongols. He planned his talking points, but as a former boxer once said, "Everyone has a plan until he gets hit in the mouth." :scrutiny:

I suppose one shouldn't be shocked by ignorance of many members of the media, but the host didn't even know the landmark Supreme Court decision of Castle Rock versus Gonzalez, 2005.

What probably irks me more is this stubborn refusal to see the world the way it is as opposed to how we want it to be. Believe me, if magically removing guns from the world would guarantee that not one person would ever perish from violence again, I'd give them up.

Also, even if law enforcement WAS legally obligated to protect me, it's not like I'm going to wait for them to show up to do so. Ten minutes is a long damn time when your life is at stake.

Excellent debate.

With the manner in which CNN's Piers Morgan was proven to be using gross distortion/misrepresentation of his opponents' comments, switching the exact topic with no warning etc, that guy from WV would not be welcomed by the esteemed "journalist" Piers (who was fired by the BBC in 2004).

So was three minutes at Sandy Hook.

I stand corrected. I had heard he had eleven minutes before LE arrived.

I will try to find the source for that. I heard it several times that the killing took place in 3 minutes, but I will see if I can find a source for that directly.

Take care

Bursts of gunfire were heard coming from Sandy Hook Elementary School over an 11-minute period, starting around 9:35 a.m. Friday, according to a review of the call. The details of what happened inside the building during that window are still being sorted out by investigators.

I heard one news report stating the cops were on the scene "instantaneously" and that the shooting had stopped by the time they arrived. This is a small town and school is about a mile from the center of town. Not sure why it would take 11 minutes for them to arrive on scene.

In any case, hard to find actual record of cops and when they were on the scene even though that would be documented in police tapes. Still trying to find a good source based on police radio transcripts and cop video in their cars. It exists, but funny, not easy to find looking for it tonight.
