My proposal for a gun control law

I like it. I would be tickled pink if it would happen and our country would be a much safer place for it. We would also have rapid improvements/developments to weapons for soldiers by injecting the weapons into the creative public. There would also be more familiarity with military weapons among the US public which would facilitate more rapid and effective emergency training of the public in the event of a draft/all out attack on the US from abroad (not from within, as we are currently experiencing).

I was just thinking about all of the false flags that have preceded pretty much every draconian ban/restriction/imposition on our freedom in the last 100 years, and it's downright amazing how we have gotten to where we are now through the gauntlet of lies and 9-11's somewhat intact.

This time is different. It is "enough is enough" time. Certain members of our current administration have made it abundantly clear that it is their foremost goal to disarm, deconstruct, depopulate and dismantle the United States of America, and they have been doing this step by step for decades now.

I wonder what our forefathers would do if they were resurrected today and they read through the headlines from the past week?

Perhaps certain individuals will remember that defending the constitution means "stop attacking the American population"?

That sounds a lot like the current 2nd Amendment. Ordinary citizens owned the "assault weapon" of the day, the muzzle-loading musket, and on up to cannon.

I don't understand the anti-gun crowd's (apparent) idea of restricting the general population's access to military weapons. Unless their idea is simply to control the entire U.S. population and turn all of us into sheeple similar to themselves. But no, THAT couldn't be possible. There is no sense to creating a population of defenseless, dependent and potentially subservient subjects, is there?

OK, soapbox mode off. Sarcasm dialed down.

It does little good to wish our Founding Fathers had worded the 2nd Amendment a little better. But good for you for, armedandsafe, for spelling it out. If a Senator or Representative introduced such a bill (or amendment), the debate would be a healthy exercise.

Lost Sheep

I'd have to disagree. It doesn't look much at all like the 2nd if it attempts to regulate classes of people. Otherwise prohibited is the same PC mealy mouth speak we have right now. If the person is a free citizen of the country with no outstanding wants and warrants they should have all the freedoms of this country. If a person believes someone has done something bad enough they should never again be a whole and free citizen then society should be protected from them - keep them in jail for life!

I think your proposal embodies the spirit of the 2nd amendment, but it would be a hard sell approving m60 machine guns and m79 granade launchers, both of which I carried in the US Army. Also, toting a 50 cal machine gun would probably give me a hernia or something!

I think that the pro gun representatives should draft a piece of counter legislation that not only allows ARs and high capacity magazines, but one that also reopens the machine gun registry and that does away with the tax stamps. That would be awesome and a great way to stick it to the politicians trying to take away our toys.

I believe that this is a case of if we give them an inch, they'll take a mile. Today they want 10 round magazine capacities and no AR's, tomorrow they'll want 5 round magazine capacities and no semiautos. Before too long, we will be disarmed and the Second Amendment will be nothing but words on paper.

No. The 2nd Amendment is not only a law, it is an Amendment that cannot be changed except by the Amendment process..
Your law can be changed at will by a simple majority in Congress, every 2 years. Here today, changed tomorrow.

No thanks. The 2nd Amendment has stood for over 2 hundred years. Works fine.
