Im wondering how many AR-15's will be at a gun show for sale? Its in Houston Im wonder what would be about average 3? 300? What kind of selection will it be? Im leaning towards the Colt LE6920 M4 AR-15. I read they stopped putting the Law Enforcement Military stamps on civilian sold models a couple of years ago, would I come across one of those? and how much more should it cost? What is a good or acceptable deal for a LE6920?

Depends on the show, from what I have seen a decent sized show should have a few hundred, but all bets are off after last month's events. I believe that specific AR was going for 1100ish, without all the bells and whistles in November, expect to pay atleast double that now probably more, especially if it comes with mutiple magazines that accept more than 10rds.

If you really want one, you will want to be there early on the first day. There is no telling how many AR type rifles will be there until you go and look. It seems like most rifles are about 2x what I consider "normal price". For a true colt NIB in todays market, I would expect to pay 2k+. Anything below that would probably be considered a "deal". I wish you luck. You may be one of the very few that can find a rifle that a dealer is selling at the pre-scare price.

Man thats lookin pricey! Yeah I plan on being there when it opens.

If yall where in the market for this gun right now what would you be willing to pay?

Your best bet, you are mad because I am styling, would be to wait for a while. If you MUST have one now, all of the sudden, then go early and bring loads of cash.

I wouldn't buy an AR at the current prices, even if you were to find one for under 1500 it is probably a cheaper one that was going for 700 back in November. If you live in a state that you're relatively sure isn't going to pass a ridiculous law just wait it out.

I live in Texas but federal law supersedes state law so if they ban assault weapons I will never be able to buy one in my life!

the one i went to this past weekend had loads of ARs, Aks, Vz-58s, etc. however youll be hard pressed to find any good deals. The only semi decent prices i saw was a firing line built milled AK for $1150, a Vz-58 for $850(it was wearing its thumbhole stock, so im guessing people werent to interested in it lol), and a norinco underolder in .223/5.56 for $1200.

ARs were topping $2200 for your most basic version so good luck on that. If i were you i would go and see what if anything has a reasonable price and go after that.

The feds will never get an assault weapon's ban through with congress's current make up. Hi cap magazine ban would be a longshot, but if you're concerned buy a couple of them and wait for the guns to get semi reasonable again.

I agree with vamo. I think any federal gun ban in the next 2 years is extremely unlikely.

Now if the house turns next election that would change, but for the next 2 years I don't see it. I expect prices will be coming down over the next several months. For sellers, I think they better hurry as they are likely to lose equity every week they hold out in hopes of a major jackpot.

When do you think the AR's are going to be finally in stock and prices back to normal?

Going to a gun show Saturday and getting 7 30 round magazines for the AR and 7 15 round clips for a glock 19 at the very least. If prices where still normal I would get the AR-15 and a glock 19 for concealed carry.

I went to a gun show two weeks ago. Run of the mill AR's were priced at $1500, 20rd mags at $40.

Kicking myself for not picking up a Saiga x39 for $375. I converted one a few years ago, probably could double that price with a couple hours work and $150 in parts.

Yeah, good luck. Hope you're rich.

Think I should pay those sort of prices? Are they gonna go back down? Clinton implemented a 10 year ban and Obama wants to make it a permanent ban! I know I would kick myself forever if that happens and I didnt buy one. The prices like they are and it being out of stock EVERYWHERE makes you think theres going to be a permanent ban and if thats the case I suppose they are worth double.

I went to a show over here in Virginia, and by Saturday afternoon there wasn't A SINGLE AR left! It was a pretty big venue, and they were still all sold out! There were still a few AK's, but like another poster said, they were WAY out of my price range.

Get their early if you want an AR...or bring your first born son for a trade-in on an AK.

Based on the studies of the last assault weapons ban, prices tend to peak for the proposed banned items right about the time legislation is introduced and debated in Congress. Prices fell after the 94 ban actually went into effect.

To answer the question, there will be zero reasonably priced AR's at any gun show right now. Now is not the time to buy an AR if you can wait. If you are in Houston, I suggest contacting Memorial Shooting Center and getting on their waiting list for an AR; they still are selling for reasonable prices when they have them.

Right now supply cannot meet demand, leading to incredibly inflated prices. However if you can wait, you will probably be able to get an AR at about half the price of current prices.

I have two AR rifle, one with a carrytop and scope the other a flat top with a red dot scope, one is a preban Bushmaster. To me they are little more than safe queens, I have better stuff.

I am waiting for the peak demand so I can get enough money to pay off a nasty back child support plus deliquent property taxes.

I also had a mild heart attack yesterday so it would be nice having a bit of emergency cash.

That's going to cost at least $600(and maybe over $800).

How recent was that? I'd be kicking myself too. :)

I just picked one up for $470 a few weeks ago (right around Christmastime) and that's the cheapest price I've seen anywhere for a while. I've already "restored" it to its proper configuration!
