Bird head grips....?

It takes a little getting used to, I bought my son a Heritage Rough Rider for Christmas, and my wife surprised me with one of my own, both are birdshead models, once you fire it they become rather fun...They deal with recoil pretty well on larger calibers too...

Birdshead grips work best for me, when used on a gun with a short barrel.

I've found on my Heritage with the bird butt that if I squeeze just a bit with the ring and pinky fingers it locks tight into my palm, sights aligned.

I don't like the birdshead grips either....they get away from me too ...mostly because I have pretty big hands..( gun rolls out of my grip / and its too short )...

...so I went to a Freedom Arms large frame model 83.....for my introduction into the single action revolver world, and I've been really happy with it.
