WH photo of Obama skeet shooting

As others have pointed out, his stance is awkward.....holds the gun like he's sighting a rifle. Certainly not crouched, leaning forward into the target.

I would seriously not delve too much into his posture or form strictly because we don't know at what instant this picture was taken. Could be just as he pulled the trigger, mid-shot, or tail end of the shot. All which would impact how he'd look.

Way too much over-analyzing of a picture of Obama doing what many of us have done many times - shoot a shotgun. And maybe not in picture perfect form.

This is confirmation of something I've suspected and dreaded for some time--that Obama has formed a clandestine army of elite commandos that will invade the coasts of the United States! :uhoh: Here is video footage of their training, classified Top Secret and disguised as a cheesy music video in the event it should ever be leaked:

What does his shooting a shotgun have to do with the restrictions he wants to put on law-abiding citizens as to number of rounds permitted for self-defense?

I wouldn't care if he was shooting a 50 caliber machine gun on a turret. That would still have nothing to do with OUR SECOND-AMENDMENT RIGHTS which he is trying to erode when the Right clearly states:cuss: "Shall not be infringed."

When over 500 people are killed in a year in a city that has banned all manner of guns, I think I need more than 10 round magazines and even more than one 30 round magazine in case the thugs come to my house. The thugs aren't going to be limited in how many rounds they have in their magazines, since when do lawbreakers follow any laws at all?

Skeet-shooting is the last refuge of a scoundrel that pushes for draconian gun controls after the Newtown school shooting massacre.

Right, none of these laws would apply to him anyway, as the bill expressly says that government officials are exempt. And as far as Obama is concerned, the Constitution doesn't apply to him either--we and the lawmakers who support us are the ones applying pressure, along with the need to maintain his public image (trying to prove the doubters wrong after his silly propaganda slip-up). Speaking of which, I would love for this photo to be distributed among elementary school children (wouldn't hurt the children any--I just wish we could shove his hypocrisy in the face of his supporters, the public school administrators).

Exactly.
It should be in their History books.

So they stage a photo of him firing a shotgun and gun owners are supposed to think he is our buddy?????

The date this pic was supposedly taken was on His Birthday ,Aug,4,2012 but news reports for that day was he played a round of Golf and spent the remainder of the day with His Family..Lied again...

More bull<deleted> to try and put forward the false notion that the second amendment has anything at all to do with hunting or sport shooting

I agree that whether Obama shoots skeet or not is irrelevant to whether he wants to attack 2A rights, which seems pretty irrefutable. However, the phoniness of his claim and his pandering also seem pretty irrefutable.

I find the quote "we do skeet shooting" to be odd. Not "shooting skeet" or "going skeet shooting."

I agree that this phrasing sounded very clumsy...Saying "we do skeet shooting" sounds like someone who doesn't. It's like saying "we do bowling" or "we do golfing" -- clearly a guy who knows little about it, and is just blowing smoke up peoples' skirts.

Its Wabbit season<deleted>,....You're Dispicable....

Gun looks like a Beretta O/U with a ported barrel fwiw. Look at the fullsize picture. The gold script on the side looks a lot like the Beretta trademark.

He looks like pretty much everyone I've ever taken shooting that doesn't listen to me say nose over toes. Not that I can hit a damn thing, but it doesn't stop me saying it...

He's left-handed. Huh. Learn sumthin' dumb everyday... :D

Honestly, that's a very "out of character" shot for the President; I don't think I've seen him too many times in blue jeans, even. That's no accident; image is incredibly important for politicians, and that photo is pure damage to his carefully sculpted brand. Definitely meme material for sure. Can't honestly blame him for keeping the photo under wraps until now :D

Props for him not using a Perazzi or Purdy or something else too nice for us workin' joes. More props for him not accidentally releasing a photo showing poor safety :). Even more props for releasing a photo with greenery in the background (i.e. not appearing to have been taken yesterday to sate the appetites of reporters after they called BS on his skeet claim). And last but not least, props for not looking like a complete dummy--unlike Kerry, Dukakis, and God know how many others who allowed a silly photo to get out while trying to be cool. The sunglasses were a nice touch (we can't see him squeezing his eyes shut under recoil :D)

What I wanna hear is a press release about how much fun he had. Us gunnies remember how much fun we had when shooting for the first time (especially if as adults) and the passing mention he gave sounded incredibly lame. Like a middle-schooler describing his "girlfriend from Kansas" to skeptical classmates :D

Yesterday I cleaned the toilet bowls in my house because they needed cleaning. If someone had photographed me doing that and turned it into an official press release, would seeing the photo convince anyone that I enjoy cleaning commodes?

There is so much paranoia in this thread that it is a wonder some are legally allowed to own a gun.

Get a grip on reality. Being a nut job in no way helps your case for any subject. Period.

Not that exif data isn't easily modified, but the exif data is intact on the original image.

Well, I guess that's what I get for relying on websites that analyze the exif data. Both that I tried said the image had no data.

If you are scrutinizing this picture to prove its authenticity, you must be the light of all parties.

Don't be a paranoid person and expect people to be silent to your rantings.
