I've been looking for new 9mm and I'm kinda set on the SR9c but I can't find one anywhere. The only other gun that feels good in my hand is the M&P 9c. I can get one right now for $475+$35 transfer. Should I do it?

That's a decent price from what I have seen. I'd go ahead and get it. No guarantee it will be on the shelf when you go back. I found an M&P40 FS that I liked and bought it. When I went back 10 days later (per CA law) they didn't have any more in the case.

I like mine and I have the matching full size to go with it. If you can, rent one and make sure you like it. The 9c trigger was better than my full size but not the best I've owned. I find that my fingertip gets sore after long range sessions. For whatever reason, after the break I suspect there is a bigger after travel than some of my other compact 9 mms (caracal c, glock 19, bersa t9ucp). I installed the apex kit on my full size at home with the help of some YouTube videos. Someday, I'll probably do the same for the 9c.

Back on topic. I like mine. Carry it occasionally. The one you found is a good price for a good gun. I'd buy.

My EDC is a M&P 9C. Personally, I hate the stock trigger on the thing, and I went in knowing I would replace the trigger.

That's a good price for an M&P 9c. Good size very well made pistol.

As to the triggers, some people love them, some people hate them, so don't care either way. It's not a bad trigger at all IMO. Can be a little gritty out of the box but smooths out with some rounds down the barrel and lacks a strong noticeable reset. Neither are big deals to me personally.

I love mine. It's my EDC, with the pinky extention its comfortable for large hands. This weekend I will be getting the full size version.

If you can't find a Ruger, and you also like the M&P that is available (at a decent price), then why is this even a question? What is it specifically that had you wanting the Sr9c? also, what is the motivation for getting one 'right now' (i.e., can you just wait till you find the one you wanted in the first place?)

The price looks good (especially for the times). I EDC a 9c and I will be for a long time to come.

I picked one up a couple weeks ago, I'm actually kind of happy the Ruger wasn't in stock, I'm liking the Smith more now.
I paid way more than that.

btw, there's someone selling a SR9c in the classifieds here (not mine). Not sure if they're willing to ship or where you're at though.

Same as the rest. Have a M&P 9c as my EDC gun, and really like it. Have had it for a year with no problems. Shoots everything from Speer GD 124+P carry loads to my 115 gr. reloads.

SR9 or M+P 9c

I had a SR9 , was sent to Ruger 2x, got a M+P9c NO problems. I got about 3000 rds threw it, I reload. I think its a better made gun,the trigger has smoothed out nice+ I can shoot it better than the SR9. I also have a Ruger GP100,357mag , great gun.

Fair price,I just bought the same pistol NIB yesterday for $535.I own a M&P shield, and full size M&P 9mm.They have been flawless one of the reasons I bought the 9c.

I've no Compact, but I got a Shield Friday. If the Compact has a trigger even close to the Shield, it won't be bad at all.

I have to agree with most here, the M&P is a good choice. I have a M&Pc in a .40 and its also my CCW. I bought mine a little more than a year ago at a local store that supplies law inforcement & security, but also sells to the public too. Paid $475+tax for mine, and came with night sights and 3 mags. I bought a Crimsion trace for it a few weeks ago, and now I really like it. LM

M+Pc or SR9

I see everyone ,everyone recomemded the M+P line over the SR9!!!!
??????? Oh well it s your money....
:D:D have a great day......

I use the M&P9c as my EDC (along with a Kahr CM9 and full size Colt 1991A1). Switch around based on weather etc.

The 9c has been a very good shooter and as most others have stated the stock trigger is just fine for me. It has nice clean break after some take up. It was just a little gritty at first but some dry fire and range work cleaned it right up. I have no desire to intall the Apex trigger parts in my gun.
