I have a problem: Impulse buying and the Shield 9mm

You made the right choice. I like my glocks, but I LOVE my shield!
I too enjoy a good Glock, but I've had several opportunities to pick this lil guy up and passed. Next you know, can't find one.

It's the luckiest visit I've had to the LGS in a year.

Its only a "problem" if your taking food off the table.. Otherwise its perfectly acceptable to buy right there and now or it may not be there when you return.
It's on layaway. It's not going anywhere. I like your reasoning though, however my fiancé hates it!

I'm getting the gun, Talon grips, and XS Big Dots all at same time.

Now, about that ammo...

I bought a Shield, an XDs and a PM9 all within a two week period. The shield was nice, but it was the first one sold. The XDs is a little nicer, it is sold and being delivered to its new owner on Sunday. The PM9 will be sticking around. :D

I wish Sig made a polymer framed 239. Oh, by the way, if you have not tried Talon grips, do so. They make a world of difference.
Congrats on your purchase, exciting.

I do not like ANY XD, s or otherwise. I am a staunch advocate of the lowest possible bore axis, and that grip safeties belong on 1911, and even then I still don't care for them. Many of my companions own XDs in one form or another. They like em just fine.

PM9s are indeed very nice. I will own another one day.

I did look at Talons, and think ill be getting the Rubber ones for sure.

What accuracy are you owners having at longer ranges,m10-25 yards?

My LGS owner thought I was stupid for asking what used Shields go for; his reaction: "What used Shield?"

Congrats, I'm a big fan of mine. I really wanted a single stack 9mm for my CCW. Nice trigger out of the box.

Cool, I'm glad you're a fan. What accuracy are you getting?
I don't typically shoot my ccw out to 25 yards, but it's as accurate as any other pistol I own. I just ordered a Pachmayr grip glove, so I'm thinking that will enhance the grip a bit.

Cool. I ordered the Rubber Talon grips.

They'll be here before the gun.

How's your double tap?

Congrats on the new Shield. I have had one for about eight months now and it has become my favorite CC piece. Light,
accurate, comes with 2 mags, great trigger and best of all 650 rounds of various ball and HP ammo and not one hiccup.

Just one Shot, just upgrade from 9 to 40, or was there something wrong with the 9?

Not a thing wrong with the 9mm. I traded it back to the guy I got it from because he was having regrets on letting it go and he had another gun I wanted in .45 acp.

Alot of guys seem to be recoil sensitive when it comes to small guns in anything larger than 9mm but the .40 has not been an issue for me. The little Shield in .40 shoots and handles better than the Keltec PF11 9mm a brother at church owns.

Now if they would hurry up and make one up in the .45 acp they would have something really special!

How is the Shield next to the Solo?
A buddy of mine just handed me a Solo a couple of months ago, I have never shot it but it feels great.

Had the front sight dot dissapear at my last range session with my .40 Shield.
The nail polish trick is working well as a replacement.
I pocket carry a Kel Tec PF9 slightly more because it weighs slightly less.

I haven't had mine fall off yet.

Maybe the .40 recoil pops it out?

I know there is a page of "waiting list" at my LGS for them and he hasn't seen one in a while.... I was first on his list back in April and it took 3 -4 weeks before he got one for me. He has them ordered - just not getting any in....:(

Mine was NIB, just delivered. I'd passed the gun up several times, but knew I may have to wait a good while for another chance.

Going to try reloads in it today.

The Shield is terrible. Now would all of you please stop buying them so I can get one?! Walked in to Sportsman's Warehouse one day and they had just gotten 20 in (10 of each caliber). Unfortunately, it was the day BEFORE payday! The next day I had $10k in my account but they were out of stock! I did text my dad immediately, and he was able to pick up the last one that same day. I shot it yesterday for the first time - what a pleasant gun to shoot! (40 cal). First group off hand was 4" at 25 yards, perfectly centered. (Although for some reason, my dad was hitting about a foot low and a foot left at the same distance). Double taps were easy too...

Low and left?

That sounds like pulling rather than squeezing the trigger.
