Except, she moved from a state whose Governor was the first to say something about exploring the arming of teachers....so no, she is not saying they need to change things to the way it was done "out east"...because it isn't done that way here either.

I feel a population growth coming soon to our wonderful state of Wyoming, and we welcome the views that most of you have...and oilfield jobs are plentiful right now.

Go back where you came from, we don't cotton your kind here. 18th century reasoning at the dawn of the 21st, wonderful.

That wasn't what he said either....

....If you don't like the political atmosphere of Wyoming, then by all means, leave.... So, to conclude, if you're so worried about what our legislature is working on, then go back home.

He didn't insist that she leave, he left that decision up to her. He merely indicated that he was not willing to change the way things were done to suit her. Since she threatened to leave the state if she was not suited, he merely agreed with her assesment.

Personally, since I crawled all over the over the top "anti" response from a state representative posted on this site, which said something to the effect of "I don't make voting decisions based on how my constituents vote, or donate that is yucky". I think to avoid being a hypocrite, I will say, Hans Hunt might have used more tact in letting her know that his other long time resident constituents did not agree with her and like the way Wyoming was doing things unencummbered by outside influences.

I find it pretty sad when a supposedly "enlightened" public official calls a minister a "liberal hippie".

Not fair Grassman, I live in NY but I sure don't subscribe to any of this NY liberalism. It is not about where you live or where you are from but it's all about how you think and feel. Drag yourself just about anywhere in NY north of NYC and you will find a gorgeous state with a lot of down home good folks.
You sir are welcome here in Texas anytime!

Thanks Grassman. One of my Exes lives in Texas and a bunch of my old pals also who could very well be your friends and neighbors. Been there a few times and loved the place except I hate the heat.
If we could float NY City over to the left coast where it belongs this state would rock!

Stay in your lane! First off, Hans Hunt, the "supposedly "enlightened" public official" never once called any minister a "liberal hippie." That was me, and me alone. No, I am not a public official, enlightened or otherwise so I'll give you a moment to pull your foot out of your mouth. In the mean time, my assessment of this "minister" still stands.
She happens to be a minister in Cheyenne at the Unitarian Universalist church, (whatever the hell that is) that is one of these "churches" that are non-demoninational to include, Christians, Budhists, earth-centric, agnostic and even athiests. Yeah, that sounds legit. Sorry but this "minister" sounds as legit as the Reverand Moon.

Sounds like political grand standing. Wouldn't our cause be better served by reason, logic, and thoughtful argument instead of preaching to the choir? PC is PC, no matter which side it's coming from. The only difference is wheather you agree with somebody or not.

Political grandstanding or not, whatever you want to call it is based on your views. As long as it assists a liberal hippie in their decision to leave my backyard and go hang out with the other tofu and bean sprout munchers someplace far, far, far away, I'm good with that!

Right on Grunt! OK, so drop the Hippie and just call her the liberal she is. I was a bit of a hippie myself back in the late 60's early 70's and living just a few miles from where Woodstock was held. I just never tossed my saddle on that liberal horse and not many of my hippie friends did either. It was all about Piece and LUV and No I didn't spell it wrong.

I'd rather try to convert the nonbelievers. Also, why are some of you people so afraid of political views that are different than your own?Living among people who have exactly the same views and politics has been tried before . Anybody remember the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany,North Korea, or Iran?

Because some people with different political views are trying to destroy the Second Amendment.

Because RIGHT NOW, I can look to the south of us here and see what happened to Colorado. Once upon a time, they were just like us up here in Wyoming until the liberals form the People Republic of California descended on them like a virus. In case you haven't heard, Colorado is in the fight of it's life in regards to gun rights thanks to the liberals that turned a red state purple and then a purple state blue. THAT'S why we don't want their kind here! No different than living amongst the leapers and ebola victims if you must but you don't bring those people into a healthy community either.

I served with a fella from Laramie, and right after we received our honorable discharges, he invited me up for a few days. The first few were sorta blurry as we were throwing an ETS party, but even back then I saw a lot of good there. Folks are friendly but generally dont try to get in your business, the hunting is excellent and the fishing aint too bad either. I found a healthy, independent, self reliant attitude there which still impresses me.
The state government is minimal as I think it ought to be, and theres a lot of opportunity.

KYLarry, there is a huge difference in living around folks with views different than your own and those who are bound and determined to cram theirs into every aspect of your life. I dont push firearms or other individual freedoms on others and demand they conform to my way of thinking, but Im not going to be pushed into their handbasket just because they want company.

Delmar,
Well said, sir. That about sums it up in two, short sentences.

I'm 53 and the key differences I see between, for example, my father's generation and my own is the propensity for people from my generation - and in particular, those even younger than me - to vehemently foist their views and opinions on those with whom they disagree. What we are now seeing at both the state and federal levels is legislation that, by design, will forever compromise the inalienable rights of a populace and with the stroke of a pen, through no act or omission of their own, instantly transform millions of law-abiding citizens into felons.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” - C S Lewis

For those who want to breath free, but can't tolerate cold weather I have a suggestion.

Go look at Arizona.

Our gun laws are noteable because of the total lack of same.
